[AZ-Observing] Re: Arizona Observing?

I used to work for a professor who collected scorpions at night. He had
a feud with Stahnke at ASU and his way of getting back was to collect
sorpions and turn students onto them to study. Between three of us on
one evening we would bag over a thousand. The units we used were battery
powered, and if I recall correctly they were used in mines. This may
give you some idea where to find one. Also, although not in production
now, the Safari lights were battery powered and all one had to do was
buy a black light tube. I had used this for scorpions also. Probably
there is another light for which one can buy black light tubes.

Scoprions are the oldest land animals on earth and have changed little
since their first appearance on land. They are mindless and I would not
go out of my way to kill them for pleasure.
