[AZ-Observing] Re: Arizona Observing?

Scorpions are very numerous in the desert. All one has to do is take a
black light and you will discover what you have been walking over at
night. Just ignore them and they will ignore you. I have never seen a
tarantula at night. If you see one, make friends with it. They do not
attack and do not aggressively bite. If you happen to be accidently
jabbed by a fang as it crawls around your arm while getting aquainted,
rest assured that it is not venomous. The worst that can happen is that
you may get a bacterial infection. With respect to snakes and other
creepy crawlers? Handle them appropriately on a one on one basis.
However, in all my 43 years in Arizona, I have only seen two rattlers,
and neither in the natural desert - one in a stack of blocks when I was
four, and one in a storage shed of the house we used to own in Mesa.

In summary, I never worry or concern myself about any of these things.
