Just as small telescopes have an upper magnification limit, large telescopes 
have a lower limit.  The solution, if you want to call it that, is to buy 
another telescope; a small refractor fits the bill.  My Pronto (70mm f/6.8) 
with a 27mm Panoptic eyepiece gives 18x, a 4mm exit pupil, and a 4-degree field.
