[AZ-Observing] A fun weekend at the Antennas site

Howdy all;

Well, we had a very fun weekend at the Antennas site off of Hovatter =
Road.
On Saturday night there were 12 vehicles and a dozen scopes set up by =
7:00
PM. Once the Moon set and the stars really came out it was a very nice
night. The breeze would pick up and die off occasionally, but all in =
all it
was a very good night, I rated the transparency at 8 out of 10. By 11 =
PM I
was able to pretty easily point out the gegenschein to several folks. =
It
was a fairly obvious oval glow between the Beehive cluster and the star
Regulus in Leo.

I had lots of fun with my new scope, a 6" f/8 refractor. I did many =
star
clusters and really liked the dark and contrasty field of view with this
scope. At 1 AM on "Saturn-day", Saturn was really terrific with the =
6.7mm
eyepiece and the Baader Semi Apo filter. There were several bands on =
the
ball, Cassini's division at the ansae of the rings and lots of faint
satellites.

Let's give it a try for next moonth, see ya;
