COMPUTER MESSAGE SENT.
Well, that was done. Everyone was back on the ship where they belong
and we didn't have to send another shuttle team. The next question on
everyone's mind including Skyler's was, what was the next mission. Was it a
rescue
mission, a scientific mission, or was it a diplomatic mission. Skyler couldn't
see the Avalon on a Diplomatic mission. Unless it was to transport a diplomat
from point a to point b. She hoped it wasn't a mission like that, they were
the most boring of missions. So far, to be honest, she hadn't had much
excitement lately. She supposed it was true what people had told her. The
higher you
go, the less you get to do. So far it had proven itself out.
In fact during this entire last mission she rarely saw the captain,
which was highly unusual. Come to think of it, what's strange is she rarely
saw any on the normal staff. She didn't know what they were going to do with
Nerys. I suppose Karg and Keith had that worked out. And it must be on a need
to
know basis because as First Officer she apparently don't need to know.
Then it hit her and she know why she didn't think about it sooner.
"Michaelson, change course to 56 degrees latitude and 35 degrees
longitude, warp factor 5."
"Yes, Sir, altering course now."
Sitting in her chair she could feel the slight movement of the ship altering
course. She knew that she was most likely going to make a few people unhappy,
but she had to show some initiative if she was ever going to get a command of
her own. She felt absolutely no ill will toward Keith at all. She was happy
to serve under him and would keep doing so until the time to move on was right.
It just so happened that this was not the time, that didn't stop one from
improving their skills.
She would just sit and watch the stars go by until such time that the Captain
wanted to know what she was up to. Then she would tell him all about them.
The special openings in space that let you go from one place to another and end
up in another time and space.
Hopefully, investigating them would be their next mission............
