"When Will It End"

         Skyler was beginning to think that this stupid investigation was 
never going to come to an end. She was absolutely sick and tired of hearing the 
rumors and allegations from the rest of the crew. She knew she was in the 
right. The Captain had the orders, they were investigating the rifts. So why 
was 
she being punished.  She knew all right. It was as simple as the nose to spite 
their faces.

         She wasn't a member of the boys club. Therefore whatever she did was 
always going to be questioned. Even if she was in the right. She was in 
command, she made a command decision. She did her job. What more did they want, 
other than to have her roll over and let them walk all over her.

         No, Skyler knew exactly what was going on. Someone wasn't happy 
playing second fiddle to a woman. Well, that was too damn bad. They were just 
going to have to get used to it. She had done worse things than what they were 
all 
claiming she had done. Even then she had been in the right, in the long run. 
The Romulan's of all people even agreed. So if one little simple minded 
Betazoid couldn't handle things then that was just too bad. He would have to 
grow up 
and deal with it. That was a part of life, growing up. Plan and simple.

         She would again prove to them and "him" that she knew exactly what 
she was doing and was perfectly capable of being in command and more to the 
point, of being first officer. 

         Now all she had to do was wait for Mehdi to appear and she would 
feel much better. He would come soon enough.  Skyler went and made herself 
presentable and started dinner.
