<USS Avalon> "When Will It End, Part 2" Cmdr Skyler & Ensign Idrys

"Will It Ever End, Part 2"
written by:
Cmdr Skyler & Ensign Mehdi Idrys

Skyler was stuck in her quarters wondering when things would return to
normal, well some of them at least. Others could continue as they were, or even
get
better as far as she was concerned.

She was just so sick and tired of the same four walls. You could only
change them so many times before that got boring as well. She also knew damn
well
that Javan wasn't staying in his quarters per the Captain's orders.

Why was she always the one doing the right thing and then being
punished for it?
She just didn't get it. There was something definitely wrong with this
picture.
It seemed lately that the only bright spot was Mehdi. Sometimes even that
wasn't enough. Although it was quite satisfying to say nothing of gratifying.

It had been a harrowing experience going through the interrogation. Idrys
had tried to retain an outward calm but he was nervous as ever wondering how
the investigation would end, what the Captain's word would be. He realized how
deeply involved he really was as he had instantly fallen in love with
Commander Skyler. Now that she was under investigation, he had to
act carefully.

Being in Medical during his regular shifts could get boring indeed
at times. He lived for his off-duty time, when he could be with her. She
counted. He lived for her love. His desire was a burning passion and silently
he
felt himself asking her that question he longed to ... if she would marry him
...
but he wasn't certain. Lovers, yes, for now. Who knew how it might end up?

Would she appreciate his impulsiveness or admire caution? It was a
dilemma that he didn't know how to solve. Not yet at least. But he accepted the
fact that she loved him for who and what he was ... and that, in the end, was
what counted.

Ensign Mehdi, also know to those that loved him as Idrys or Giya or
lover. God she missed him. She didn't realize how lonely she had been until
that
fateful moment in the brig. She had to admit that was the only bright spot of
this entire investigation. Without him, her life was meaningless. She was
nothing without him. But how did she get pass the rank issue. But then again
she
didn't give a damn about the rank issue. She loved him and wanted to be with
him,
for him not his rank or lack thereof

So she came up with a plan.

"Computer change room to accommodate two, make it more tranquil,
with lots of cooking materials and program the replicator with different
recipes.
Also add more closet space, make the bed a double, and increase room size by
1/4." There that ought to make it more comfortable for the two of them.

She then went and put a message into the computer and marked for his eyes
only. "Mehdi, it is urgent that you report to Cmdr Skyler's quarter;s at
once. She has taken ill and needs immediate medical attention."

She then pushed the send button and waited. While waiting she paged
Ensign Johnson to come and remove Mehdi's stuff from his quarters and place
them in hers.
Now the waiting began and Skyler became more nervous as each minute went by.

He turned and noticed the personal message light flashing and hit the
receive button. He read the message, paled, then grabbed a medkit and headed
for
the nearest turbolift and stepped in. "Deck 2."

He wondered what could have happened to her when it dawned on him ... the
message had used his first name ... Of course! She had to have sent the
message herself. He smiled as he stepped out and rang the chime at her quarters.

Skyler was laying on the couch with a cold rag on her head as if
she had a major headache. It was several minutes before she replied with the
word "Enter."

He stepped inside and spotted her on the couch. All right, he thought,
she wants to play ill, let me play along with her.

"I got here as fast as I could, Commander," he said, opening the medkit.
"What seems to be the matter?"

Skyler didn't answer right away. She was audibly wheezing and every time
she moved it felt as if her head was going to explode.

"I don't....(wheeze wheeze)....feel so good......doc. My head....(pounding)
goin to.....(wheeze) explode.......Need Help......(wheeze wheeze cough).....

He nodded. "All right ... headache ... migraine, I assume? ... any other
symptoms? Dizziness, fever, aches, pains, soreness of throat or anything?" He
began rummaging in his bag.

She nods yes to the above.

He took out a hypo and began filling it. "Well, then, I think we're
going to have to put you on a strong regimen of medicine here," he said.

"Hold still," he continued, placing the hypo against her arm.

"What ever you say. You are the Doctor after all. You are a doctor
correct?"

"Indeed." He hit the button on the hypo and then removed it. You should
be doing much better soon."

Skyler heard the hiss of the hypo and felt a little sting as the
medicine entered her system. It wasn't long before she was relaxed and
breathing
easier.

"You seem to be doing much better now," Idrys observed, looking around
the room as he did so. "Commander ... is it just me or ... has this room
changed
since I was last here?"

"I'm sorry Ensign but I did do a little redecorating. I hope it meets
with your approval and with your placebo as well.

He grinned. "I was wondering. Well, ... that was an original way to get
me out of Medical. You tipped your hand anyhow ... called me by my first name
instead of 'Ensign Idrys.'"

He looked around. "This place is beautiful. I wouldn't ever want to
leave."

    "It worked didn't it?"

"I think you need to look a little closer Ensign."

Wordlessly he leaned over and kissed her passionately. As he slowly
ended their kiss and broke their embrace he stared intently into the deep
lustrous pools of her eyes and murmured, "Yes ... it worked ... like a
charm.

Like the charm that you are, Imzadi." He drew her closer,
cupping her bosom in his hands, and kissed her even harder until he could
scarcely breathe.

"So I take it you approve and plan on moving in?" As she took a
breath in between kisses.

"Nothing would give me greater pleasure, Imzadi," he
replied, tugging at her tunic.

I've waited I've done my time
At the end of the day it's no good to ask why
I have whispered I have cried
I've felt bitterness and kept it inside

Love can leave with no trace
It's just another heartbreak

I never saw the light in my eyes
I never heard the thunder as it filled up the skies
Until I until I
I'd never ever fallen so far
I never knew a feeling like this storm in my heart
Until I was loved by you

When you hold me I let go
I know all those sweet emotions that lovers should know
You're so tender you're so strong with you I get the feeling that nothing is
wrong

Yeah it's strange but it's true
It's like I have been waiting my whole life for you
Because I ......

Never saw the light in my eyes
I never heard the thunder as it filled up the skies
Until I until I
I'd never ever fallen so far
I never knew a feeling like this storm in my heart
Until I until I was loved by you

There's so much I never knew
I want to surrender myself to you
I love the way that you do everything
I never saw the light in my eyes......
