Walking to the Captain's Quarters

The walk was anything but quiet as they made their way silently to Ketchum's 
quarters. "So, Lieutenant, how have the delegates taken to this situation?"

 

Manson smirked, "they have been all but polite and cooperative. I've got about 
twelve delegates demanding to talk to Commander Skyler- since she did take over 
command before you arrived. Two of them want to make sure they put a bad note 
on me."

 

Ketchum glanced at Manson, "you weren't overly rude were you?"

 

He shook his head, "I don't think I was sir, but then my... patience has been 
running thin. I made it clear that if they weren't in their quarters, I'd have 
security posted at their quarters. Not to mention moments before you got here, 
I already saw a few security officers walking about deck two. The Rydyns 
haven't complained. Yet."

 

Ketchum nodded, "I see, and what is happening to the investigation of Captain 
Flubb's murder?"

 

"Security has been dispatched to the ready room. The Forensics Department is 
sweeping the area. That's as far as I know."

 

"Ok, thanks for the update."  As they reached the Captain's room and walked in. 
 "I do thank you and your team for keeping my arrival quiet."

 

"No problem, Captain", Anthony smiled.

 

"Well, I guess I should take over command", he walked to the desk and tapped 
the comm, "Computer, transfer command of the Avalon to myself, Captain Keith 
Ketchum, authorization Ketchum-Alpha-Theta-Nine"

 

"Authorization accepted", replied the computer.

 

"Now, to get settled and then meet with the department heads."

 

"I'll set up the meeting in the morning, in the conference room."

 

"Very good, Mr. Manson."
