<USS Avalon> "Transferred"

people still thought Zarak was an oddity. An Andorian in a Star Fleet  
uniform turned heads wherever. By articulating his Antennae, Zarak could hear  
everything that was said about him.
 
He was billeted aboard a freight hauler. None of the crew here wished to  
associate with him so he ate and studied in total isolation. There were  
specification on his new ship, The Avalon. "Oh great, calibrating ship's  
sensors, my 
favorite topic." After three days of nearly constant study he  decided it was 
time for a break. He had the small viewer rotate views of  Andooria. This only 
served to make him home sick so he downloaded the crew  manifest of the 
Avalon and put it on a continuous loop so he would recognize  people and not 
appear 
to be such a dummy.
 
the tail dragger he was on took more than a week to get to the shuttle  
rendezvous point. "Bridge to Lt. Zarak. your ride is here. her CO wants to  
leave 
right away."
"Acknowledged."
 
It was now less than a day to his new home. On the shuttle were two  othere 
officers who were being posted to the Avalon. As on the freighter,  these 
officers were not interested in getting to know him. He thought, "None of  them 
better be in Tadctical. I won't have this kind of prejudice. before leaving  
the 
freighter, Zarak had transferred the crew manifest and ship specs to a large  
PADD so he was able to occupy his time well.

Finally he had arrived and was the first to step off the shuttle. He  stopped 
at a Com panel. "Computer, I am Sr. Lt. Zarak. I am the new Chief  Tactical 
Officer. Have you quarters assigned to me?"
"Affirmative, map to your quarters is currently displayed."
"Very well, please report my presence to the XO's duty log. Where is Capt,  
uh, Admiral Ketchum?"
"Admiral Ketchum is in his Ready Room."
"Please request an appointment and display the result in my  quarters."
"Acknowledged."
 
I should have just enough time to change to a fresh uniform.
