Timing… That’s All There Is To It
(Also known as a Quick Wrap Up)
By Captain Keith Ketchum
Keith sat on the bridge awaiting the return of his engineering and medical
officers from the Allegiance and also his executive officer from the Blackwell.
He was getting worried about his Chief Engineer, they had not heard anything
from them for quite some time. He knew that his engineer was quite
resourceful, but to not hear anything was quite a different matter.
The news from the Allegiance was that they were almost finished with the
repairs and that their own newly named and newly promoted, Chief Engineer,
Lieutenant Diana Winters was recovering rather quickly. The Chief Medical
Officer had informed her that she was pregnant with twins.
The being that had rampaged the crew of the Allegiance, had exited her body
after a full day and turned to liquid and dissipated into nothingness right in
sickbay.
Captain valQIS Kat and the remainder of what was left of her crew were now
staying back on the Allegiance.
“Sir, incoming message from the Allegiance.”
“On screen, Ensign”, Keith replied.
valQIS appeared on the screen, “Captain Ketchum, Keith, on behalf of my crew,
we thank you for your hospitality and saving us from uncertain fates.”
“It was my honor to assist a colleague and friend.”
“The last of your crew should be beaming back now, and we are off to Station
51 for other repairs that can’t be done out here. Until we meet again,
Qap’la, Keith.”
“Godspeed, valQIS.”
The channel closed, Keith looked towards his helm officer, “Ensign, once the
last of our crew is back from the Allegiance, lay in a course for wherever that
Lieutenant Thomas was heading, to begin our search.”
“Aye, Captain.”
“Incoming message from the Genevieve, they should be coming in a couple of
minutes.”
“Very well, hold position until they are aboard and then proceed on course.”
Once the ship was aboard the Avalon was on their way again.
As the Avalon pulled away, there was a great explosion in the nebula that
caused the nova with the pulsar contained within.
