<USS Avalon> Time on the Bridge

Time on the Bridge
by Phillipa Waterson and Keith Ketchum

Phillipa walked off the lift, after her brief talk with John. She didn't
know what the future would bring for either of them, nor did she want to
speculate. What they had had was a one night stand. She remembered her
intoxication, and his as well.

Arriving at the Ops station where she had been temporarily assigned, she
relieved the officer there, and took over the scanning for the "spider's"
planet.

But her mind wandered to that night. To his touch.

The future between her and John, would be interesting. She wasn't in love
with him, she knew that. She wasn't in love with anyone in that way at the
moment. But she wouldn't allow that to keep him from their children.

While daydreaming, Keith walked up to her. He had spoken her name multiple
times, and finally touched her arm.

Shaking herself out of daydream, "Sorry, sir."

"Quite alright, Ms. Waterson, you have a lot on your mind. How was your
appointment?"

"Went well. The doctor states that all is well."

"Good to hear. Any luck on finding our guests planet?"

"Scans are almost complete, it appears that two show a simple match at this
point."

"Understood, keep at it, Lieutenant. And try not to mind wander." He
smiled after that, so she knew that he was not worried about that.

She smiled back. Should she tell him? Was it her place, or was it John's?
He was going to be a grand-father. She decided it was not here place. "We
should have a planet soon."

Keith nodded and returned to his chair, and Phillipa returned to scanning
planets.
