<USS Avalon> The Rain In Spain…

The Rain In Spain…
By Captain Keith Ketchum

Skyler and Sierra arrived in the conference room, almost right behind each
other; Keith motioned for them to take a seat.

“I apologize that this investigation has taken so long to complete, but I
wanted it to be complete and thorough.”

He didn’t want either of them to speak until he was done. “I am going to
pass my ruling. It will be final and if I hear either of you complaining about
it, I will demote you back to Ensign so fast, your head will spin.”

Keith continued, “Commander Skyler, you took matters into your own hands, we
had not received confirmation regarding the rifts in relation to our orders.
Also your attitude towards Commander Sierra during his questioning of what you
were doing was uncalled for. I pronounce you guilty.”

Without missing a beat, “Commander Sierra, you also took matters into your
own hands. Having Commander Skyler removed from the bridge was against
Starfleet Regulations. No matter her attitude, you can question her orders
with me.
I know you were doing your job, but to others it appeared as a mutiny. I
pronounce you guilty.”

“My judgment is as follows. Commander Skyler you are to return to a position
that you have become most comfortable with, that of executive officer.
Commander Sierra, you are to return to the position that you have become most
comfortable with, that of second officer and chief of security.”

“I suggest that you both learn to work together. I am counting on you in
this hour of need for the Avalon. I don’t feel that I should have to play
babysitter.”

The ship was closing in on the Avalon.

Their cloak was engaged and they knew that the Avalon’s sensors would never
pick them up and know they were there.
