The New Security Force

Keith sat in his office.  Finally reading over  the last of the many PADDs 
that had crossed his desk.  The comm beeped, and  he tapped the desk monitor.

The surly man that appeared on the screen,  "Admiral Ketchum, I am Brigadier 
General Loe Plartiman."

"General",  Ketchum nodded.

"I'm sure that you are aware, but with the Curry class  ships, and from what 
I understand about your current mission, Starfleet has  instituted that you 
will have a contingent of Marines on the Avalon when you  depart Izar on your 
new voyage."

"Is that completely necessary,  General?  I mean, a normal security force 
should be enough."

"It was  not my decision, but came from above both of us."

Keith sighed, "Very  well.  I expect them to be aboard within the day, so 
that we can finally  get underway."

"They are already en route and should be forming up on the  station for 
transfer."

"Thank you, General, for the notice.  I will  make sure that suitable 
quarters are prepared."

"Very good,  Admiral.  Plartiman out", and with that the comm closed.

Keith  frowned, Marines he thought, just what he didn't want on his  ship.

"Ketchum to Skyler, please make sure that we have ample quarters  available, 
we have a marine contingent coming aboard as our security  force."
