"The Future Again?"

Skyler was sitting on the bridge, watching the view screen as the ship was  
in warp. She still couldn't believe what the Chief Engineer had in mind. To 
send  a one manned shuttle into the wormhole set of charges to close it and 
hopefully  ride the waves back out? She knew he was a quiet guy but this was a 
tad 
on the  ridiculous side.
 
Closing the wormhole was only part of the mission. They still had to find  
the Maquis and remove the weapons from them. Damn she hated dealing with  
Temporal mechanics and Temporal police or whatever you want to call that man.  
Couldn't we get a simple mission, like rescuing refugees or something along 
that  
nature? No, we have to deal with the strange and bizarre world of temporal  
mechanics.
 
It all made her feel uneasy. She remembered the last time they had dealt  
with changing time and what had happened. She remembered it all even though the 
 
only other person who knew was now off the ship as was the doctor in charge. 
She  was not relishing the thought of going into the future again, her life was 
semi  back to normal. What would going back into the future do to her? Would 
she have  to undergo another mind wipe if so she would refuse. She tried to 
push it all  into a corner of her mind where it wouldn't bother her.
 
She sat in her chair, feeling the engines under her feet and the power of  
the ship. Hopefully things would be different this time around. She could only  
hope.
 
"Lyta, maintain present course and speed."
 
"Yes, Sir. Maintaining present course and speed."
 
There was nothing for Skyler to do but sit and wait. Wait to see what would  
happen to them all.
