The Aeroshuttle - and the Start to the Envoy
by Keith Ketchum and Patrick McEntire
Mac waited nervously for the rest of the Camelot assignees to arrive,
counting heads as it filled up and waited to take off and awaiting word on his
wife
and children. He'd have given anything to be on the shuttle with her, but
orders were orders and, especially at a time like this, you just didn't argue.
Keith walked from the front after seeing to Phillipa, and headed back to the
seating area. Seeing Mac, he approached. "Are we about ready to go? All
assignees aboard?"
"Yessir," Mac answered, taking his seat at last. "By my count, that's all of
us."
"I hope so, will be tough, new crew, spouses, kids, and so on, the counts
might be more on some of the shuttles." Turning he made his way back to
Phillipa, "Open a channel to the runabouts and the shuttles."
"Channel open."
"Crew, once you have loaded, exit the ship and meet about one thousand yards
off the front of the Avalon. We will then head as an envoy to Izar to get a
ship to come back and get items from the Avalon. I would have called ahead
for one to be sent but they have limited staffing there at the ship building
facility. Make sure that once your shuttle or runabout is at the meeting
point, that all your assignees are aboard. Ketchum out."
