<USS Avalon> Talea Responds to the Alert

Surprised by the Captain's hasty departure even more than she was bothered by the alert of an illegal use of phaser power, Talea settled back for a little while, unaware that her date with Walker would be deferred for at least one full day as a result of the next few minutes' activities.

When the ship's motion and sounds abruptly altered, she reacted by throwing on her uniform and teleporting to the Bridge, resuming her place at Ops, regardless of the risk to her, for the needs of the many obviously outweighed her need to recover fully from that nastiness in Marine spaces. She only hoped this wasn't the start of something even more dangerous than an idiot's self-deluding hatred, for she knew the vessel was now speeding forward at a rate that was perilously close to red-line for the warp core, and far, far faster than the Federation's warp-speed laws permitted.

Her scans of the Ops panel, though, showed that all departments were handling the apparent emergency without undue strain. While there were flickers here and there of yellow, the board was, for all intents and purposes, green, so she reported, "Ops reports that all departments show nominal, Sir." She resisted the smile that threatened as more than one officer between her and the Tactical console startled at her words.
