Skyler's Meeting with the Captain

Skyler had put up with Commander Sierra's behavior for as long as she 
intended. She was going to talk to the Captain, it most likely wouldn't do her 
any 
good, but for her own sake she had to. She made her way to his office and rang 
the chime and waited for him to answer.

Keith checked the time, he knew that he had a meeting with the Rydyn 
Ambassador, but it was a little early, "Enter."  The door opened.

"Captain if you have a moment I would like to talk to you.  I know that you 
have just returned to the ship and not under the best of circumstances, however 
I cannot put this off any longer. I must protest the behavior of Commander 
Sierra during your absence. During the investigation into the death of Captain 
Flubb, he refused to acknowledge my command authority. He neglected to respond 
to my call for security to secure the Captain's office, he bluntly disregarded 
my authority in the whole investigation. I am tired of his disrespect and 
lack of protocol. If nothing is done to remedy this situation, I am afraid that 
I 
will have to put in for a transfer as soon as we reach earth. I cannot and 
will not work in this type of situation any longer. I thought I was chosen as 
your XO because you respected my ability to handle situations regarding command 
and what have you. Now I find out that you have spies and that even you don't 
trust me. Sir, I do not understand? If you do not trust me, then I will resign 
as your XO and depart the ship as soon as we reach earth."

Skyler had to keep talking or she feared she wouldn't say what was on her 
mind or she would be talked out of saying it. She knew it must sound like it 
was 
rambling but it had been building and the dam had finally burst. The rest was 
in the hands of the Captain. Someone she had trusted and at one time thought 
was a friend. Now she wasn't even sure anymore.
  
Keith surveyed Skyler for a moment, "Commander, you were chosen for your 
ability to handle any situation that was presented to you.  As for the spies, 
Mr. 
Kendrick is here to keep me informed of things.  And since I was not the 
Captain of the Avalon and Flubb had taken over, he was asked to watch over him. 
 As 
for Mr. Sierra, please write up a report for me, and I will review it and 
determine any need for a reprimand.  If you feel that you need to leave the 
Avalon when we arrive at Earth, I truly understand, but I will not sign off on 
a 
transfer, you will have to go over my head."
  
Skyler looked at Captain Ketchum. His response was not what she had expected. 
She really didn't know what to expect. She had hoped he wouldn't ask or 
accept her transfer. Sometimes when she thought she knew him, he would do 
something 
totally unexpected.

"I will work on that report Sir and get it to you as soon as possible. Thank 
you for not accepting my request for transfer. There isn't a ship or Captain I 
would rather serve with. I appreciate your taking time out to listen to me."  
Skyler didn't know what else to say or do. For the first time since joining 
the crew of Avalon she felt awkward.

 
"Commander, I hate to rush you off, but I am expecting a Rydyn Ambassador, 
you can stay, but I think that it will be quite boring.  Please have that 
report 
to me as soon as possible.  Dismissed."  Keith turned his attention back to a 
PADD.
