<USS Avalon> "Skyler's Dream World" with corrections to Lt Thomas's name (sorry)


"Skyler's Dream World"

        Skyler had finished her discussion with the Counselor but truth be 
told she still felt some trepidation. She wasn't sure why either. It's just 
that 
it felt like nothing was really solved. Anyway, Skyler still had a few hours 
before her shift began so she returned to her quarters and tried to get some 
rest. 

        As she entered her quarters she decided to change her quarters to 
something more tranquil. Something that would relax her. She changed the room 
itself into a serene world where the ceiling looked like a nice blue sky, she 
added some aroma therapy so the room smelled of freshly cut grass. Once that 
was 
done she made sure the cabin door was locked and had the computer 
automatically answer the chime with the statement "I am sorry, but Cmdr Skyler 
is not 
available at this moment, please leave a message on the PADD attached to the 
door." 

        She then changed into her most comfortable pair of clothing and found 
a comfortable place to sit, after of course getting a pitcher of Iced Diet 
Pepsi and just let her self relax. It was while in this state in-between 
consciousness and uncousiness that Skyler found herself. She was aware but yet 
not 
aware. She was in her own dream world. A world where everything was perfect and 
there were no conflicts or problems. Of course this was not real, yet at the 
same time it felt very real to Skyler. 

        In this world she could be anything or anyone she wanted to be. She 
could float on the clouds or she could fly with the birds. The choice was 
entirely up to her. She decided that for now she would sit on the grass and 
enjoy 
the smell and drink her Diet Pepsi and just let the warm glow just wash over 
her. After all it was her world and she could do whatever she damn well pleased 
and didn't have to check with anyone for permission. 
                 
        She was remembering a time when all she had to do was lay on the 
grass and look up at the stars and try and find the different constellations. 
It 
would take her most of the night, since some of them were rather difficult for 
her to find.  She finally gave up and decided to go to the bridge. 

        Upon reaching the bridge she relived the officer in charge and asked 
Ensign Michaelson what there course setting was. 

         "We are on a setting for Vargus II with an estimated time of arrival 
of 10 minutes." 

        Skyler made note of that and informed Henderson to begin scans 
looking for the Chief Engineer Dodge Thomas and any other life forms on the 
planets 
surface. 

         "Let me know the minute you have anything on your sensors." 

         "Skyler to Ketchum, we are 10 minutes out from Vargus II, and are 
running continuous scans in search of Lieutenant Dodge Thomas. I will keep you 
posted of any changes we come across. Skyler out." 

        Skyler sat in the command chair and started to day dream. She was 
back in her dream world again wondering what it would be like to actually be 
back 
in the world she had created in her quarters which represented her life back 
on earth. Someday she would be there again but for now she had ships business 
to take care of and a lost engineer to find.....
