<USS Avalon> "Sisterly Worries" Soliel & Skyler

"Sisterly Worries"
Lt.Colonel Soliel & Lt. Skyler

Having just finished checking out the interrogation unit Skyler made her way
back to the main sickbay area. She knew the Avalon was on it's way to
Betazed, which was under attack by the Breen and she wondered how her parents
were
doing or if they were even still alive. She tried to put those thoughts away
from her mind as she still had to maintain sickbay for incoming wounded. For
the most part her staff did a fairly decent job, although they could do
better, she just wasn't one to beat them to death over it, but she would and
could
make sure that they damn well knew their jobs, especially going into this
situation. She shouted out orders to Manson and Harak and then proceeded into
her office to try and think things through.

As soon as Soliel had left her meeting with the pig she headed for sick bay.
She needed to know if her sister knew anything. It had been quite awhile
since she'd talked to either of her parents and she was starting to feel
really
bad about it. Walking into sick bay she looked around and only saw her
sister's officers so it was clear where Skyler was. Walking into her sister's
office she asked, "When was the last time you heard from Mother or Dad?"

Skyler looked up with some surprise. "You must be really concerned if you
aren't even talking telepathically. Actually I was going to ask you the same
question. I haven't heard from either of them in some time and with the
current
situation I am begging to get worried."

Soliel frowned as she sat on Skyler's desk. "It's been ages since I've
talked to them." There was a fear and panic bubbling in Soliel's stomach, a
feeling she didn't like what so ever. "How long were they planning on staying
there? Didn't Mother need to get back to Paris for work?"

"You are really scared aren't you? So you aren't as tough as you let
everyone believe. I don't know how long they were planning on staying. You
know how
they get when they
get back on Betazed. They never want to leave. As for Paris, I'm sure mother
managed to find a way to do her work on Betazed. Any suggestion's on how we
can reach them?" Now she was getting worried, more so than she already was.

"I am not scared." Soliel protested as she picked up a model of Klingon
heart and started to fuss with it. "I'm just worried it all. I don't know how
we
could get in touch with them. I'm sure one of the first things the Breen did
was to sever the commutation relays." The model heart broke apart in Soliel's
hands. "I want to go to the surface when we get their. I'm sure Daniel won't
object but that goddamn Shimbrodus keeps over stepping his bounds."

Skyler could tell just how upset her sister was even if she didn't want to
admit it. She knew Soliel as well Soliel knew her. "Once we within distance I
could take a landing party down with the pretense of aiding in the assistance
of survivors. Shimbrodus can't object on the basis of that reasoning and
even if he did, as the only medical authority around he would have no say. Of
course I would need an engineer just in case of an emergency.

Soliel nodded. "I'm sure their need repair teams." It didn't make Soliel
feel any less on edge but it helped a little with her sense of helplessness.
"I
swear if they're hurt I'll kill every last Breen in the area with my bare
hands.â

"Don't worry, you have to do it alone because I will be right by your side.
The only thing we can do now is prepare a shuttle and have everything we
could possibly need ready so that all we have to do is jump in and leave,
regardless of that ass Shimbrodus or anyone else for that matter. We will find
them
Soliel. I promise.

"I'll talk to Daniel and make sure we're clear to go down." Soliel put the
pieces of the heart back down on the desk. "I don't know what I'd do if I lost
them or you or Ronni."

Getting up from behind her desk, Skyler pulled her sister close, holding her
tight. "You aren't ever going to find out. You are stuck with the bunch of
us."

Soliel resisted the hug at first. It was hard for her to give up any amount
of her control, but it felt nice to let her sister support her for a little
while. "I can't wait until this war is over." She said softly as she rested
her head on her sister's shoulder. "I want to go home for a while."

Kissing the top of her sister's head, Skyler whispered, "I do to Sunni, I do
to."
