<USS Avalon> Shutdown

The soft hum of the engines whispered like an old friend...singing to 
him...soothing away any fear he might have of what was soon to come...
 
he shut them down with a sigh, allowing the shuttle drift.
 
the console flashed softly in the blackness of the near-empty cabin...
 
reaching out silently, he shut down all remaining systems, 
 
-except the communications which were hardwired open and took more power to 
block than to simply leave as they were in older shuttles like his-
 
then he routed all the shuttle's remaining power, including environmental 
controls, to the cloak and shields required to keep the timeline intact.
