"Showing the Captain Around"

         Skyler was glad to see that Captain valQIS had survived the havoc 
that had occurred on her ship the Allegiance. She kept remembering the time she 
served under the Captain when she was in Skyler's position on the original 
Avalon. Back then valQIS intimidated Skyler, not to mention scared her just a 
little. But that was then and this is now.

         "Captain, if you will follow me, I will be happy to show you to our 
guest quarters on Deck 2. You will be close to the bridge and have easy access 
to the Captain as well. It is a pleasure to see you again Captain."

         Skyler wasn't sure at all how the valQIS would react toward her. 
They had had their confrontations in the past but she hoped that the Captain 
had 
put them behind her as she had.

         "It is good to see you again as well Commander. I see that you have 
been keeping Keith in line. I am sure that it is not an easy job. I know when 
I was in your position, he was not always the easiest person to keep in line." 

         "I cannot disagree with you Captain. He hasn't changed much since 
those times. If anything he is a tad bit more daring. I will have to admit 
though that he does at least listen, if nothing else. He may not follow my 
suggestions, but he at least stops and listens before he goes off on his own." 
Skyler 
just smiled, not knowing what Captain valQIS was going to say. Skyler 
remembered how stubborn she could be, and how assertive she could be when she 
had to 
be.

         valQIS laughed heartily like the Klingon that she was. "Well, Cmdr. 
I see that nothing has changed. He is still stubborn and bound to do things 
his way nor now way at all. At least you are keeping him under control and that 
is the only thing you can do."

         The two continued to reminisce and before long they had arrived at 
the guest quarters that would be the Captain's new home for her duration aboard 
the Avalon.

         "Here we are Captain. There are a few things I should tell you about 
your room. It is something that is being tested on the Avalon and if it works 
it will be made available to all ships in the fleet. Have a seat and I will 
explain."

         valQIS was interested, though it was hard to tell as she kept her 
emotions in check. Skyler couldn't remember if this had to do with her being 
part Elasian or part Klingon. That was always the one thing Skyler could never 
figure out about her.  Skyler guessed that there were other things she would 
never figure out about the Captain.

         "Now, Captain your room can be programmed to any environment that 
you would like. You can program it to be like your home on Elaysia or on 
Qo'nos. 
Or you can program it to any type of environment that you would like. The 
only thing you can't change in the room is the bathroom and the closet.  Those, 
unfortunately have to stay as they are. Anything else in the room is open for 
change. You can have the replicator programmed to dish out any type of food you 
would like. I can have an engineer come and reprogram it for you if you would 
like?"

         "This sounds very interesting Commander. I think I will spend some 
time getting used to the room. As for the engineer, you can have one come up in 
about 3-5 hours. I am going to take some time and rest and try and write some 
much needed but unwanted letters. So if you could see that I am not disturbed 
I would be very grateful."

         "I will take care of it Captain. I will send the engineer up in 5 
hours and will make sure that you are not disturbed. I don't envy you having to 
write those letters. If  you need anything please let me know. "

         "Thank you Commander, I will keep that in mind. Again Thank You for 
everything."

         Skyler left the Captain in her quarters with the dismal task ahead 
of her. After making sure everything was taken care of, Skyler returned to the 
bridge and to her seat and checked in with Keith.
