"Searching for the truth: A meeting with Captain Flubb"

      Skyler was not at all happy with the turn of events that had occurred 
on the outing the previous afternoon with Lyryn, James and Mehdi. She was going 
to have a few words with Ketchum and get to the bottom of this once and for 
all.   If Mehdi were with her, he would tell her to calm down and think first. 
But this was not one of those moments. In fact she didn't have time to calm 
down. She wanted to know what was going on and she wanted to know now.

      She reached the transporter center and had the Transporter Chief beam 
her back to the Avalon. As the beaming process began she could feel the 
tingling sensation that always seemed to occur each time her molecules were 
spread 
out over the galaxy and then reunited on the other side of their destination.

      Her destination was the Avalon and Keith's office after she made a 
quick stop in her own office to see if there was any news waiting for her. In 
only 
a matter of seconds she dematerialized and dematerialized in one piece, in 
her office off of the bridge. But she hardly recognized it. NOTHING was the 
same. It looked like someone had come in and ransacked her entire supply of 
Diet 
Pepsi and rearranged everything else all together. Nothing.....Nothing at all 
resembled her office. The carpet had even been changed. "Keith," she shouted. 
"I am going to get you for this" She tried to change things back to the way 
they were supposed to, but the computer would not accept her commands,

      "Keith, You wait until I get a hold of you. You will pay for this. I am 
in no mood for one of your little pranks." She was even more upset now, then 
she was before. She didn't have time to worry about Keith, but she would get 
even, he could count on that.
      
      After calming down, a little, she went out onto the bridge only to find 
a strange looking man, (no not Keith) sitting in the command chair. She went 
over to her chair and stood in front of this person and introduced herself.

      "Uh excuse me Sir, I am Commander Skyler, First officer of the USS 
Avalon reporting for duty. Could you tell me where Captain Ketchum is and what 
happened to my office?"



      "Commander, evening.  Captain of Avalon, Flubb is.  Office off Bridge, 
Ready Room, is Flubb's.  Moved, Deck 3, XO Office, has."  Flubb stood to shake 
Skyler's hand.  "Ketchum, at Starbase 12, promoted, he is"
  

      Skyler looked at the man sitting in Keith's chair and noticed he was 
wearing a Captain's uniform and the minute he opened his mouth to speak, she 
knew they were all in trouble, including the new arrivals and the old standby's.

      "Captain, I must speak to Captain Ketchum on a matter of utmost urgency 
and time is not a luxury. So if you could please direct me too him I will 
leave immediately and hopefully get this matter settled."

      "Commander, Star base 12, Ketchum is."  Flubb didn't like to have 
repeat himself.  "Leave quickly, If go there, you must.  Ends, Two days, Shore 
Leave does.  Here be, you must."

         "Thank you Sir, I will leave immediately. I will be back in time." 
Skyler turned and left the bridge and ran toward the shuttle bay. On the way 
she ran into Mehdi.

         "Whoa, Imzadi. Where are you going in such a rush? It's bad enough 
that they took James and Lyryn, that you took off. Now you are in a rush to 
take off again? Are we ever going to spend some time alone together?"

         Skyler knew that her husband was right, they should be spending this 
time together, yet she felt obligated to find Jams and Lyryn and help them 
out. She only hoped that he would understand. ~~~ You could always come with me 
Imzadi~~~ She hoped he heard her as she gave him a quick kiss good-bye. "I 
will be back before you know it. Just keep a place for me at the table."

Mehdi knew he was losing the battle and wished his wife well as she raced to 
make it to the shuttle bay and get to Starbase 12 and back within the next 2 
days. He had married one fiercely loyal and independent wife that was for sure, 
and he wouldn't have it any other way.


       Skyler made it to the shuttle bay just in time to catch the last 
shuttle leaving. As she sat in her seat and tried to relax, she thought back to 
all 
the times she had served under Ketchum and couldn't imagine serving under 
another Captain. The Avalon would always be Captain Ketchum's ship. She would 
have to seriously start to think about transferring. She wasn't so sure she 
could 
work under this new "Captain Flubb," yet she couldn't leave Lyryn and James 
just yet either. She had made a promise to them as well. She was definitely 
torn. She had to get to Ketchum and talk to him. 

       
She sat on the shuttle and closed her eyes and tried to relax and waited. 
There wasn't anything else she could do at the moment. Just wait. It was all in 
Flubb, Ketchum, and Starfleet Intel's hands now.
