"R'ish'tka" part three
Ne'ris'tkia was not happy at all. She had given the order to send one of her
best pilots, Mir'ast'hera, into uncharted territory. Now it had been two
days since anyone had heard from her or her vessel. The scientist's had no
idea
what had gone wrong or how to bring the ship back.
As she walked past the hall of generations, she wondered if she had made a
mistake in sending a ship into the unknown. Yet all of her being told her she
needed to do so, to explore that which was beyond R'ish'tka, to find out what
lay beyond the moons of her planet.
As she reached her chamber's she sat upon her throne, rubbing her forelegs
against each other. This allowed the substance secreted by her body to coat her
legs and protect them from the dirt and other tiny creatures in the tunnels.
She clapped two of her other legs as a signal for her servant's to bring her
dinner. She wasn't extremely hungry but the nourishment was needed for all
the hatchlings she would have to lay again in the near future.
The plates were overflowing with all kinds of vegetation and meat. Using her
legs (arms) she grabbed some leafy food off the plate and using her
pincher's, (that act as her mouth), she tore the leaves into smaller more
edible
pieces. During dinner she had her extremities curled up underneath her, accept
for those which she used to eat with. Several different courses were laid out
before her.
As she was eating one of the scientist's came running in. "Your majesty,
please pardon my intrusion but we think we have picked up a signal from the
ship. I thought you would want to know immediately."
"Can you trace this signal and bring Mir'ast'hera home?"
"Unfortunately, the signal comes and goes and we cannot get a secure lock on
it. We are doing everything we can and we will continue to work on it until
we have reached her." The scientist's were extremely nervous around
Ne'ris'tkia and they did not want to fail her.
"Return to your stations and I shall return there as well within the hour."
Ne'ris'tkia sighed, What have I gotten my people into and is it worth it?
