"Returning Home"
Dr. Alexis Cazook and Lt. Commander Marksbury

As soon as she'd been given her diagnosis, the treatments and training had
begun. Intense couldn't even come close to describing the process, but
suffice to say Elissabeth was exhausted. She was looking forward to the trip
home
aboard the Arrowhead, Prometheus class vessel since the Avalon was in the
Badlands.

The Arrowhead was docked at McKinley station for some upgrades and
Elissabeth and Cazook made their way down one of the promenades.

"It'll be nice to get home, won't it?" Lissi asked her companion softly.

"Yes, it will. It seems like we've been gone forever. I haven't seen you in
sometime, I hope all is well with you and you got the answer's you were
looking for. You look tired."

Elissabeth offered a tired smile. "Yes, I did. And then some. I'm
assuming that Dr. Brookman gave you the PADD with additional medication
instructions
and such..."

Alexis looked at Elissabeth with a confused look. "Actually, I have received
nothing from Dr. Brookman. For some reason I was kept out of the loop on
what was going on with you. I have been worried about you. I am glad to know
that you are okay and that you got your answers. You wouldn't have a copy of
these instructions and such now would you?"

"Um ... actually, I do, just for my own medical records. They are sending
you back to the ship, aren't they? I'm surprised that Brookman would've been
that negligent..." The thought trailed away as they wove in and out of the
crowd. "How did you spend your time while I was poked and prodded?"

"Do you mind if I make a copy of these instructions for your file, unless
you'd rather not? As for what I did, it was nothing to exciting. Did manage to
get new glasses so I don't have to look over the top of them, unless of course
I want to use the effect to scold someone. I did read some medical
magazines, but mostly stayed in my quarter's. Not much for an old fool such as
my self
to do on Earth. Especially with no family around."
"I'm sorry you were forced on this trip for no real reason," Elissabeth
concluded softly and they walked on in silence. It took less than twenty
minutes
for them to reach their destination and they made their way to the airlock.
"Lieutenant Commander, Lieutenant, we've been expecting you," greeted their
guide. "I'm Commander Jordan McCray, Executive Officer. We're happy to have
you aboard the Arrowhead." He turned to address Cazook, "Our medical staff
is very excited to have one of the Avalon's staff aboard. They about went
crazy when they heard of that Romulan virus and they're dying to talk to
someone who was there," he laughed.
"I can't say that I have anyone go crazy over a virus. I hope they won't be
too disappointed that I didn't have a lot to do with the virus. Actually
Commander you have two of Avalon's staff aboard. Lt. Commander Marksbury is
quite
an officer in her own right. This ship is different from the Avalon, isn't
it?"
"Yes, this is a Prometheus class vessel. You are more than welcome to a
tour and I will be happy to arrange a guide for you." He smiled again, "And
we
are aware of the Lt. Commander. In fact, we were sort of hoping that she'd
be willing to teach a class or two to our security forces on covert
operations. We're not lucky enough to have such a department and someone of
her
expertise would be wonderful."

Elissabeth nearly blushed, "I would be delighted, sir."

"Excellent! Let me show you to your quarters. Doctor? When would you like
that tour?"
Alexis looked at Elissabeth and was glad to see her smile. "As for the tour,
how about you give me some time to settle in and I will get back to you. I'm
not as young as I used to be. These bones need to rest some."
The Commander nodded and chit-chatted idly as he showed them to rather nice
guest quarters with two big bedrooms and a shared common area. "If you need
anything, do not hesitate to ask. The two of you are our honored guests for
this journey." Giving a slight bow and a roguish grin, he departed.
"That was unexpectedly pleasant," Lissi commented. "Would you care to join
me for dinner, Doctor, after a rest, of course."
"I would like that very much Commander. How about in an hour or so?"
"Sounds wonderful."
