<USS Avalon> Reporting as ordered

Josh nursed the engines gently until he was in range, then hailed the ship at
last, requesting nearly inaudibly. "Garrity to Avalon, requesting tractor beam
assistance and landing clearance in Shuttle bay two." Once it became apparent
he hadn't been hear, as usual, he repeated again. And yet again. Finally he
recieved a response. "Acknowledged Mr. Garrity. Hold one moment for request
approval."

Leviticus Marshall shook his head. Where the hell had he found that old thing,
and how had he limped it this far? He got the clearances he needed and tractor
assisted him in to landing approach. Releasing the beam, he informed Garrity.
"You're cleared to land, sir."

Josh hesitated, then, unable to resist, flew a tight double loop before setting
the old girl gently upon the deck.

"What the hell? Have you lost your mind? You can't toss them old things around
like that!" the deck officer yelped, running toward the shuttle. Josh kept his
eyes on the ground as he passed the still protesting officer and all but ran
toward the lift. He headed to the conference room, entering silently and
finding an out of the way corner in which to stand and wait.
