<USS Avalon> Remember Nothing

Remember Nothing

~He continues resists us.~

~His mental shields are... impressive.~

As if he could tell from their facial expressions, the man walked across the
room, still keeping to the dark, "He is only half-Ullian. Surely he cannot be
that strong."

The two didn?t respond, making it look as if he was completely ignored. Instead
their eyes darkened. One set of blue eyes turned darker and truer, like
midnight blue. While the other dark brown burned like a honey fire. They drove
into their specimen?s mind.

~He.. Still.. Resists.~

~He weakens.~

Like catapults to a wall, those black walls that were seamless, high, and
proud, crumbled against the onslaught.

~We have entered his minds.~

Again, the man looked at the two telepaths. The full bred Ullian expressed
nothing from his face, but the Betazoid hinted a relief just at the etch of her
mouth and her eyebrows relaxed. "Begin phase two."

~Scanning for memories.~

~He?s attempting to block us.~

~Enough of this!~ The Ullian mentally screamed and outright attacked his
victim?s mind. Confident in his actions, the Ullian smiled smugly. It wasn?t
without merit.

~He is subdued...~

"Begin phase two," said with a deeper, more serious tone.

~Suppressing memories.~

~Constructing memories...~

"You?re given an offer you simply cannot refuse, son. The things you have
accomplished. Especially more if you join with us. Consider your choice here,
Lieutenant Manson, you can help bring peace to a ravaged universe, help make it
safe for everyone. More and more we need security, and it?s our duty to keep
the Federation and her people strong. Is that not worth the thought? The
sacrifice? The promise of peace itself?"

He looked up and nodded.

"Good man, you will make a fine addition."

~Progressing...~

"You can Alder... you two make a good pair. But Section doesn?t allow pairings,
especially one with some sort of intimacy between our two agents. You will be
wise and end this relationship. It will one day kill you."

Before Anthony could respond, a man walks into the office. "You?re relieved,"
he said to Anthony?s director. The director simply nods and the office is quiet.

"We?re putting you and Alder into a new project. Disregard everything you?ve
heard from that man. Simply put you and he..."

~Nearing completion~

The man nodded, arms crossed as he saw the two drilled psychic holes into the
young commander.

"You and he have been given new assignments."

Anthony blinked, "I don?t understand, what about our assignment..."

"That?s been given to a new case handler."

Anthony didn?t question, and simply nodded, "what?s our new assignment?"

"You and Alder are being posted to the U.S.S. Omen..."

~Closing memories.~

~Leaving surface thoughts.~

The two telepaths looked up and nodded at the man. "Good," he said with
satisfied tone, "The two of you may leave."

He looked over Anthony, the doors wisped shut and the lighting returned to show
a peaceful serene medical facility. The man reached over, taking a hypospray
and placed it under the young man?s neck. It hissed, and slowly opened his
eyes, Anthony looked up but stayed still. The last he remembered was an ion
storm that hit the Omen, "What happened?"

"We?re at Deep Space Nine," Alder replied, "undergoing repairs. We?ll be here
for at least a few more days. You took a pretty hard hit."

"The Captain?"

Alder grinned, "Still alive and kicking, unfortunately."

"Her?"

"Her too."
