<USS Avalon> Re: Zarak "Alpha Shift"

Alpha Shift
Zarak reported a few minutes early for his first duty shift. He had a lot of
work to do today and wanted to get started.
All heads turned when he walked onto the bridge. There were only a few
Andorians in star Fleet and this crew was a little shocked to see a Blue
skinned
man in star Fleet Uniform, perhaps there were no Bolians on the crew and then
perhaps it was his articulating antennae that set him apart. They were all
still staring. "Anything that you'd care to ask?"
There were no replies so he went about his work.
First, he programmed Science Station 2 to take over the duties of his
tactical board. That done, he set his tactical station to perform a level One
diagnostic. Back at Science Station two, Zarak went over the phaser and torpedo

targeting maintenance reports. He would have to get the XOs permission to take
these things offline but he might as well get everything done at the same
time..
After getting permission, Zarak programmed a targeting drone for calibration
of the phasers. At the targeting setting, Zarak performed the tests three
times till the phasers would hit a precise target with a variance of less than
3mm at fifty kilometers.
The torpedo tubes did not load to Zarak's liking and he ordered Engineering
to perform the needed maintenance. Subspace communications tests were also
performed and Zarak found his communication array out of adjustment by .89754
microns and adjusted it. The Tractor beam was found to be working within
design parameters.
Walking to the XO, who had the Con, Zarak handed her a PADD with his report
on tactical which he was able to complete, along with his regular duties,
just before the end of shift. When he was asked howell the targeting work went
he replied, "I can knock the slime of a Denebial Devil without hurting his
cubix."
The bridge crew including the XO looked at him rather strangely till he
said, "His Cubix,." And pointed to his own nose. "What did you think that I
meant?"
