    "Good morning, Gaylia. Good morning, Rupa. How are you both this morning?"
 
    "My, my, you seem awfully chipper, Doctor. I'm fine. We both are. What 
gives?"
 
    "I received some news is what, Gaylia. Some news I thought I ought to share 
with both of you because it's relevant to all of us and I think it'll cheer you 
both up the way it did me."
 
    "Well? Tell already," said Nurse Lakshmi.
 
    "Well, Rupa, you know how it's been a tad slow down here in Medical as of 
late ..."
 
    "Mmm - hmm ..."
 
    "And both of you have been developing a case of cabin fever while on duty 
..."
 
    "Both of us? Doc, you've complained of exactly the same thing!" cried Nurse 
Brandt in an accusatory tone. "I think the damn thing's contagious and we ought 
to diagnose whatever bug it is."
 
    Idrys nodded. "I know. Same ol' same ol', with inventory and the like. 
Boring. Well, ladies, the boredom's about to end."
 
    Lakshmi and Brandt looked at one another with an expression that was a 
cross between dubiousness and suspicion.
 
    "We're about to get out of the humdrum routine for once and take a 
wonderful walk."
 
    Brandt rolled her eyes. "For crying out loud, Mehdi, TELL US what it IS!"
 
    Idrys paused for a moment, smiling mischievously. He continued quietly, 
"We've just gotten orders to give physicals to the entire crew. Everybody."
 
    Brandt's eyes went wide and her jaw dropped while Lakshmi choked hard on 
her tea, spewing a few drops on Idrys's neat uniform. Brandt patted her on the 
back.
 
    "Everybody?" Lakshmi managed to ask as soon as she found her voice.
 
    Idrys handed them a PADD. "See for yourselves, ladies. Our liberation is at 
hand. Soon we begin our grand tour of the Avalon." He turned and headed to his 
work station. "See you soon ... be sure to bring your instruments of 
destruction with you!"
 
    "Oh, we will, we will!" responded Brandt, as she and Lakshmi collapsed in 
one another's arms, engulfed in laughter.
 
    "Fun for us, not for them, Gaylia! I love it!" cried Lakshmi.
 
    "I know, Rupa. Oh, how I know. ..."
