<USS Avalon> Out of Time by Junior Lieutenant Anthony Manson

Out of Time

by Junior Lieutenant Anthony Manson

Anthony had made most systems running smoothly all across the ship. So far.
There were a few mishaps that couldn?t be dealt with. Among the power losses
around the ship, systems such as transporters and replicators were down all
across. Select locations such as the mess hall and the main transporter room
were still online, and a select few of the crew quarters had functioning
replicators as well. Most of the subsystems were also off line, but not all of
them. Critical subsystems such as life support backups, engineering systems,
and tactical were all still functioning.

Anthony checked the systems to see exactly what year they were in. Within the
relative distant of the center of the universe, coupled with the movements of
the stars, the computer had stated that the ship was displaced five-hundred
years. And according to Starfleet?s temporal regulations in such times, he shut
of all markers or indicators that other ships might pick up on. He then
narrowed the sensor fields to emit a "bumper-car" program. Conn was informed
that once the ship sensors picked up another ship, it would immediately get out
of it?s way so that contact would not be possible.

Five hundred years, and the thought of maybe no possibility of returning made
Anthony shudder inwardly and in an instant, outwardly.
