<USS Avalon> "No Other Choice"

"No Other Choice"

Sitting in the chair in the middle of the bridge, the Captain watched as the
shuttle was pulled closer and closer to them by the tractor beam. It had almost
made it to the shuttle bay doors when the first explosion went off.

"What the blood hell!"

The bridge erupted into a clatter of people looking at the displays and tapping
at their controls. "The first charge went off." The Romulan behind tactical
reported. "There's no way to tell how far apart their set."

The headache that had been throbbing behind her eyes now engulfed her entire
head. The officer standing at opts started reporting that there was little
damage to the hull, but that the shields had been weakened in order to get the
shuttle on board. The Captain was just about to give an order when the second
explosion went off, this one closer to the shuttle.

"Scan that shuttle for life signs and get anyone on it over here, Now!"

A few seconds passed before the officer at Opts replied. "One human life
sign..." He paused. "We have a guest in transporter room one."

Turning to look at her first officer the Captain barked. "Get a security team
and get down there."

The redhead nodded and nearly jumped over the railing to get the turbo lift.

There wasn't any time to ask for options, the third explosion knocked them
around like a shilling in a tin can. The couldn't turn back, they could stay
put, there was only one thing for her to do. "Helm, take us through the
wormhole."

"Captain," The Romulan warned.

The Captain simply held up her hand.

The USS Banshee-C had a bit of a rough ride through the wormhole but was still
in once piece when her crew saw the opening. Her mind was reeling. At the end
of the wormhole was a ship that would cause them nothing but headaches. "Have I
ever told you all how much I hate anything temporal."

"Repeatedly, Ma'am." The young woman at helm replied.

The Captain was about to reply when the Romulan once again spoke up.

"Captain. I'm picking up weapons fire and a second ship." He paused a moment.
"This one does match signatures with one of the ships we've been looking for."

She was really getting rather tired of hearing her Romulan officer's voice,
because he had yet to tell her anything good. "Shield and weapons and maximum."
She called out before hitting the ship wide comm. "All hands battle stations!"

"Shield and weapons ready." The Romulan replied.

"Disable the attacking ship if you can." The Captain ordered as she settled
into her chair. "But if you can't.. Blow it the hell up."
