Sitting in his office, Joseph Flubb read the new orders from Starfleet Command.

 

        To:      Captain Joseph Flubb, Commanding Officer, USS Avalon

                    Commander Skyler, Executive Officer, USS Avalon

 

    From:     Fleet Captain Keith Ketchum, Starbase 12

 

Mission:     Transport delegation from Rydyn Prime to Earth for discussion of 
Federation Membership.  Information about Rydyn Prime has been passed on to 
Commanders Skyler and Sierra.

 

Flubb looked strangely at the quick mission orders, and muttered to himself, 
"Joy, delegation transport, taxi service, to become, we are."

 

That's when another message came up on his monitor.

 

"Captain Flubb, CO USS Avalon, this is Cmdr Skyler you Executive Officer. I am 
on Starbase 12 and was hoping that the Avalon could swing by and pick me up on 
it's way to it's current mission. I am stranded here after my meeting with 
Captain Ketchum. I would appreciate a ride as soon as possible. I will await 
your reply.  Cmdr Skyler XO USS Avalon."

 

"Become, taxi Avalon, tis true."

 

Standing and exiting the ready room.  "Crew aboard, is all, Manson."

 

Manson looked at Captain Flubb and blinked, trying to quickly translate what he 
just said, then figuring it out, punched a few buttons, "Yes, Sir, all crew 
accounted for, except for Commander Skyler."

 

"Her up, we pick, Starbase 12", turning to the helm, "Starbase 12, course to, 
lay in.  Proceed."

 

And the Avalon was off, on another mission.
