<USS Avalon> Meeting the Others

Meeting the Others
By Petty Officer 2nd Class Lol Hendricks, and Yeoman Veronica Pageant,
With Yeoman Allen Hun'ai, Yeoman Gloria Salsberg, and Yeoman Cornelia Chan

The three looked up when Veronica entered. Gloria raised an eyebrow before
they all returned to work, looking over PADDs and entering information.

Veronica moved to a vacant desk and was prepared to take a seat, when someone
cleared their throat behind her, she stood back up and turned around. "You
must be Yeoman Pageant."

"I am."

"Come into my office then", Lol requested.

"Yes, sir." Together they moved into Lol's office, and the door slid shut.

"Well, I can see why she was hired", Cornelia stated matter of factly.

"True, true", Allen agreed.

"Well, pretty boy, you were hired for the Executive Officer, so why shouldn't
the Captain have a pretty face too", Gloria advised.

"And what am I, Gloria", Cornelia questioned, smiling.

"Well, Cornelia, we weren't hired to assist the XO and Captain, we're here at
Lol's whim." All three of them chuckled.

The door closed Veronica in what appeared to be Lol's Knowledge Data
Warehouse. There were PADDs piled high on one side, and old fashioned data
chips in a
box in the corner. On his desk were three computers of varying age.

Veronica didn't know what to expect at this point.

"Yeoman, welcome aboard the Avalon. As you already understand you are the
Captain's personal yeoman. I hope you have been to your quarters, because we
are already behind. Whenever information is needed, the ship contacts us, if
they can't easily find it in the computer." At this point Veronica started to
stop listening, "Blah, blah, blah, Captain Ketchum, blah, Fast, blah, friendly,
blah, blah. Any questions?"

"No sir."

"Very good, take this PADD, you will need it in the staff meeting in the
conference room off the bridge. Take good notes, and then come back here, and
we'll go through what needs to be done."

"Understood", taking the PADD, and heading up to the conference room. Now
more nervous that ever.
