[OOC: Sorry for the delay in posting ... I was away from the computer
most of the weekend. Dr. Rashon, I hope this was okay to post; feel free
to chew me out if not! --jamie]

Meet the New Boss
Rashon, Moreya
2003:07:20

Tali sighed and stretched out on the bed in her personal quarters. So much had
happened in the last few days. She let her thoughts meander back over it all.

Dr. Bashir and the rest of the medical team had already gone back to DS9,
leaving Tali Rashon behind. The hint was that she was going to be reassigned
to the Avalon.

Except for a brief glimpse when she'd first arrived aboard, Rashon hadn't seen
the ship's CMO, Dr. Moreya. The Deltan had been moving throughout the ship
tending to the injured, and in one case, dead. Now that things had calmed
down, Rashon thought she'd better report.

She headed to Moreya's office, and found the doctor there, leaning back in her
chair, eyes closed. Her exhaustion was clear to see -- and she was still half
naked, having used her uniform's shirt to bind up an injury to her own arm
that, if Rashon was any judge, still hadn't been attended to completely.

But her eyes opened the moment Rashon stepped in. "Good evening, Ensign
Rashon," she said. "You will forgive me, I hope, if I don't get up."

The Ensign nodded slightly, unperturbed by the CMO's lack of appropriate
clothing. "If you would allow me, your arm ought to be tended to Doctor."

Dr. Moreya agreed and Tali located an osteotractor. She noted that the doctor
seemed to have put the bones back in place herself. Glancing up at the her face
for a moment she thought of the intense pain that would be. She let the thought
pass on just as quickly and immobilized the bones with the osteotractor. Her
dark black hair was tucked behind her ears to keep it out of her face as she
worked. Tali's features revealed her Romulan blood, and yet there was a
softness
about them that indicated she was not fully Romulan. She regenerated the bone
tissue and cleaned and closed the skin where the bones had broken through.
Finally Tali pulled out some guaze and a sling and properly bandaged the arm to
keep the CMO from further injuring her arm while it fully recovered.

Sitting back the young ensign finally turned her attention back to Dr Moreya.
Her impression of the CMO was that she had strong composure. Tali hoped her
first impression was correct because she had a high dislike for over emotional
people. She kept her own emotions carefully guarded and found it difficult to
trust people who let their feelings get the better of them.

Tali was brought back to reality as the comm buzzed to life with the Captain's
voice, "To the crew of the USS Avalon, please return to the ship, you have one
hour - All aboard."

Ensign Rashon hadn't even left the ship during their shore leave. Instead they
could find her buried in one duty or another, or spending her time aquainting
herself with the new ship. Two new assignments in two weeks, "Must be some kind
of record," she thought to herself before standing up and crossing her bare
quarters to the mirror. Checking her reflection she was satisified it was
appropriate for duty and then headed out her door and back to the sickbay.
