Medical Evaluation: 
Lieutenant McEntire is in surprisingly good health, given he apparently spent a 
rather long period of time adrift in an escape pod following the destruction of 
the ship aboard which he was last posted.. He does not seem to have suffered 
any ill effects. Sight, hearing, and speech are all normal. Blood pressure, 
heart rate, and respiration all well within expected norms for his species. He 
is, therefore, medically released to be assigned to post.

Psychological Evaluation: 
Aside from an at times near obsessive interest in the opposite sex, I see 
nothing that would distract Lt. McEntire from his duties. He shows no signs of 
the psychological distress one would expect to see in one who has so recently 
escaped the destruction of his ship. This concerns me, but not enough to 
recommend that he not be assigned permanent duty. In any case, it is my 
professional opinion that this man poses no security danger to the Federation 
and can be assigned an engineering post the moment once comes available. I 
will, however, recommend that ongoing observation continue for a period not 
less than three standard months to ensure that no repression is present and 
that he truly suffers no lasting emotional trauma.

Biography: 
Patrick James McEntire was born and raised on Earth. He attended Starfleet 
Academy on Earth as well. Patrick was initially interested in science but was 
discovered to have a reasonably good aptitude for engineering as well. 
Following graduation, ?Mac?, as he was more often referred to by then, was 
assigned to an Excelsior class vessel in the Beta quadrant. Following the 
destruction of the ship in battle and a prolonged medical stay on Earth, at the 
Starfleet Medical Center, he was assigned to the U.S.S. Avalon.

Joshua was one of only two survivors of the Gorn 
attack and subsequent destruction of Turner Colony of 
Berengaria VIII. Much of the settlement information 
was destroyed, but what survived made no reference to 
children fitting the descriptions of the two boys. 
Since no relatives stepped forward to claim them, 
their ages were approximated from skeletal scans, and 
the name given the oldest, Joshua, then a boy of 
approximately four or five years of age, was taken 
from the tag of his clothing. Joshua, who seemed 
unable to give us any additional information about 
either of them or their families, provided the infant's 
name. Both boys were remanded to Oldtown Boys Home, a 
questionable facility currently under investigation, 
on the outskirts of the colony, where they were raised 
until they came of age to join Starfleet. 

Physical Profile: 

Joshua is a reasonably healthy young Caucasian, human 
male. His height is normal for his species, though 
his weight remains lower than average. He is stronger 
than many of his size due to his upbringing in a 
high-gravity environment, and the work expectations of 
Oldtown, where he was raised. He bears a number of 
unexplained scars on his back as well as a long, 
jagged scar down his right cheek and what appears to 
be a branded "O" on his lower right hip. It is 
assumed that the "O" is representative of Oldtown, 
though we have yet to ascertain why such a mark would 
have been made. 

Psychological Profile: 

Joshua exhibits and unusually mild temperament. He, 
at times, appears overly docile, though he 
demonstrated excellent hand to hand skills, as well as 
armed combat skills at the academy. He is a remarkably 
analytical, logical, yet creative thinker, credited 
with many innovative engineering designs while still 
in attendance at the academy. There has been some 
concern expressed over his almost obsessive interest 
in all things mechanical, and his "workaholic" 
attitude. His continued reticence, bordering at times 
on anti-social tendencies, continue to be something of 
a concern as well. Much of this, however, is 
attributed to his traumatic history and unusual 
upbringing. 

Medical Profile: 

Joshua's file is somewhat unusual, in that there is 
little or no medical history available from his youth. 
Scans completed upon entry in Starfleet Academy 
indicate violence, evidence of numerous broken bones, 
and severe malnutrition were a part of that history, 
however. There is no evidence of lingering medical 
effects of this poor treatment now, other than his 
continued lack of acceptable weight gain. He was most recently 

assigned to an Excelsior class vessel in the Beta quadrant. Following

 the destruction of the ship in battle and a prolonged medical

stay on Earth, at the Starfleet Medical Center, he was 

assigned to the U.S.S. Avalon.
