<USS Avalon> Logging the hours

Logging the hours
by, Joshua Garrity

Josh finished the work in the Jeffries tube, stifling a yawn. He checked the
time. Twenty one point three minutes. Too long. There was no reason that call
should have taken more than twenty minutes he frowned as he logged the order
and pulled another. Lt. Jameson again? he thought, frowning. This time it was
her environmental controls. He arrived to find her door wide open and the room
near freezing inside. He shook his head and steeled himself, wishing he'd
grabbed his coat. He'd already run into this a half a dozen times tonight and
he knew it would take awhile. God, though, but he hated the cold.

He went in and replicated a hot cup of coffee, then set to work. He began by
setting out the proper tools, in the proper order. Then he pulled the fouled
chipsets, one at a time, examining them carefully, then arranging them on the
floor in front him as well. One by one he replaced them, testing the power to
and through them to make sure they were delivering as they should be. Finally
he reinitialized the environmental control settings, breathing a sigh of relief
as the heat began to flood in. Within moments the room was as it should have
been, still chilly to him, but well within the standard norm most found
comfortable. Problem solved, he thought as he quickly gathered all his things
and headed out the door.

He stifled a yawn. He checked the time. Three point two minutes faster than the
last one he'd done. Better, he thought, as he logged the order and pulled
another.
