<USS Avalon> Leaving DS9

Leaving DS9
Returning from the chapel on the promenade, Kira actually has a spring in her
step. There is a smile on her face and she is hurrying . . . to her future.
The prophets have given her a tremendous gift, unlike almost everyone else in
the universe, she no longer has to wonder if this decision is the right one.

Karg was sitting on the step to the airlock waiting for her return. He is not
a part of this place and now . . . neither is she. He is standing now and she
slips into his loving embrace to give him a long, wet, soulful kiss. As they
break, Karg ha a warm contented smile on his face. "Wow, what was that for?"
Nerys embraces him again, enjoying his touch. Into his chest she replies,
"Someday, Iâ??ll tell you."
"OK."
Together they enter the ship.

"OPS, this is The Defiant, we are ready for departure, release docking
clamps."
Worf appears on the view screen. "Qaplaâ?? brother."
"Our mothers will be happy that we are finally one family."
"Yes. When things are settled for you, try to find the time to visit
Chancellor Martok on the homeworld. Our houses are one now and I will tell him
to
expect you. Good hunting Karg. Colonel, may the prophets protect you. Out."

On thrusters, Karg slides the ship away from the docking ring, points her
nose up then makes a hard right through the pylons narrowly missing the central
structure. Out the other side, he does a thruster 180 making the ship move
backward till it comes to rest where the whole station can be easily seen on
the
viewer.
Nerys is shaking her head. "Show off."
"I feel like a kid out on a date."
She laughs, "Men! . . . why are we stopped?"
"I thought you might like one last look at the place."

Nerys swivels in the OPS chair to face him directly. "Oh Karg." She sighs,
"Star Fleet renamed this place Deep Space 9 but I still think of it as Terrace
Nor. Many of my friends died here, my mother was enslaved here to later die on
the surface of malnutrition. There were some good times here but so many bad
ones. Wherever we decide to go will be better than this. Take us out of here."
