Investigation Continues
by. Commander Skylet and Lt Junior Caine Reilly McKinsely

Skyler was sitting in her quarters thinking about Ensign Mehdi and wondering 
what he was up to when she heard her door chime go off.  She knew that she 
wasn't expecting anyone so her curiosity was getting the best of her even 
though she would rather have been left alone.  "Enter"

There were a million other places Caine would rather be then knocking on 
Commander Skyler?s door, but she knew her duty and what must be done.  As the 
door slid open, Caine took and deep breathe and stepped through, ready to 
expect the worst.

When the door opened Skyler turned to see who it was and just about dropped her 
Diet Pepsi. "Uh welcome Cmdr Caine. I wasn't expecting you quite so soon. What 
can I do for you?" Skyler really had hoped that she wouldn't have to talk to 
the counselor but that was not to be.

Caine knew that she should probably correct the Commander on her rank but 
didn?t feel like it.  ?I am here to question you about the disagreement on the 
bridge between you fellow commander, Sierra.  I sent you a message telling you 
of my visit to you.?  Moving into the commander?s quarters, she took a small 
look around the room, a lot can be said about a person from their living space. 
 ?This won?t take long at all if you cooperate with me.?

Skyler watched as Caine walked into her quarters, looking around. She could 
tell she was being evaluated by her surroundings which was fine. She was quite 
content in her space and if the counselor couldn't tell that then maybe the 
counselor needed to go back to school.

"You needn't worry about me. I plan on cooperating as I feel I did nothing 
wrong. So ask your questions and I will tell you no lies. I did what was 
required of me and that is all I did."  Skyler could tell that Caine was still 
uncomfortable in her quarters. "Would you like something to drink Counselor? I 
am going to fix myself another Diet Pepsi and would be happy to fix you 
something."

?No,? she shook her head slightly.  ?I don?t need anything to drink and I don?t 
plan on being here overly long.  All I need you to do is tell me, in your 
words, what happened on the bridge and after you give your side of the story, I 
will ask you my questions.  This entire conversation will be recorded.?  

"Well it is actually very simple. I ordered Ensign Michelson to change course 
to intercept the openings that Starfleet had heard about, when Cmdr Sierra came 
storming onto the bridge demanding to know what I was doing and where I had 
gotten my orders from. He then accused me of trying to abuse my power to get 
even with him because he dumped me for you.  He then claimed I had no orders 
and was going to put me under arrest and charge me with mutiny and I told him 
that he could try but that I could have him arrested and charged with mutiny 
and pulling a weapon on a superior officer.  He then tried to tell me that no 
one would arrest him because they all worked for him so at that point he had 
his men put me in cuffs and dragged me to the brig while the Captain returned 
to the bridge, after I had already placed a call to the captain and was just 
waiting for his arrival, but of course his arrival came after Cmdr Sierra's 
call, so it appears that I did not call the Captain.  I was however released 
from the brig by a young Doctor who received a call that there was a new 
prisoner in the brig and it was his job to check out all new prisoners. Upon 
his arrival he realized who I was and followed the rules to the letter and 
released me. Upon my return to the Bridge, Captain Ketchum relived both myself 
and Cmdr Sierra of duty until things could be straightened out.  If I am not 
mistaken we are still following the course I had laid in and searching for the 
Iconian gateways. But that is neither here nor there. I will now answer your 
questions."

Caine raised her eyebrow at the commander?s high-handed, demanding way but she 
didn?t say anything about it.  ?Alright Commander, I only have two questions to 
ask you and I should be done here.  First off, did you have any orders, from 
anyone of a higher position then you, to move the ship and change its course??  
She was very interested to hear Skyler?s response to both her questions.

"I had discussed this with the captain, but actual orders saying to go ahead no 
I did not.  That answer applies to both of your questions."

"Counselor, if you want the truth, perhaps you should take a long look at Cmdr 
Sierra. He is the one who has the habit of doing what he wants when he wants, 
For instance he was the one who went aboard the allegiance when orders were 
given not to.  He does what he feels is best even if it goes against the 
betterment of the crew or ship.  Where I follow orders that are given to me, be 
they verbal or written. This is the first instance of my taking the imitative 
and doing something on my own.?

?Hmm, interesting,? was all Caine said for a moment, taking the time to gather 
her thoughts.  ?First off, we are discussing you, not Commander Sierra; I will 
deal with him at another time.  Secondly, I only asked one question so far not 
two.  Now for my other question, if you did place a call into the captain, why 
did he not receive it and why is there no record of it??  She was trying her 
hardest to be objective, but it was damn hard.

Skyler knew that it was hard for the Counselor to be stuck between her and 
Sierra, especially knowing about their relationship. But that shouldn't matter 
she was given a job to do and if her emotions are getting in the way she should 
step away and let someone else do the job. Anyway back to her question. "I have 
no idea why there is no record of my call being placed or why he didn't receive 
it. All I know is that I sent it. If you don't believe me you can always ask 
Ensigns Henderson and Michaelson. They were both there at the time I sent the 
call." Skyler thought to her self that she was sure that Caine was favoring 
Sierra, how could she not. After all they were together so to speak. So Skyler 
really didn't have much of a chance as she saw it.

?Alright, I will ask about it when I question them.  That is all I need now 
Commander, thank you for your time.?  Caine stood up and nodded to Skyler.  ?If 
I have anymore questions I will come back to you.  Thank you again Commander.?

Skyler stood up and escorted the Counselor to the door. "If I can be of anymore 
help let me know.  Thank you for your time Counselor."
