<USS Avalon> Incoming!

Incoming!

Captain valQIS Kat remained on deck one, the bridge controls were finally 
active, except for communications and engines.  

While she waited patiently for some sort of sign, she watched out the window 
in the conference room.  She watched as the ship approached slowly, as it had 
just gone to maneuvering thrusters.  valQIS waited until she could see the 
saucer of the ship and saw that it was the Avalon.

She rushed from the conference room onto the bridge. "Kim, are communications 
back yet?"

"No, Ma'am, nothing yet."

"How are we going to let them know what is going on?"  valQIS thought for a 
moment, "What would Keith do… in a situation like this?"

She contemplated the situation as the Avalon inched its way closer.  Then it 
came to her, "Kim, are the shields still up?"

"Yes, Ma'am they are."

"Lower the shields once the Avalon is in position.  I'm not sure what they 
will do once we do, so be prepared."

And again they waited.
