"Holding Down Sickbay"
Sr. Lt. Alexis Cazook
 
Alexis had boarded the ship and after much wandering around finally found  
Sickbay. She had never planned on being Acting CMO and hoped that they would  
soon find a permanent one. She was actually still surprised she was on the  
Avalon and not back on Starbase 12.
 
Looking around sickbay didn't look too much different from before other  than 
it was much larger. There were more rooms, more operating suites, more of  
everything. It was actually quite overwhelming at first. The first thing she  
needed to do was access the computer and find out what files were still there  
and what needed to be done.
 
Sitting behind the large desk was a bit intimidating for Alexis. She  
preferred to stay behind the scenes but here she was suddenly in the forefront  
of 
things. She really didn't know why Dr. Jameson had left or why anyone had  left 
for that matter. She just knew that they had lost a good doctor and with  
Georgia gone, they had lost a good nurse as well.
 
Looking at the computer screen, she watched as file after file scrolled by.  
All the new crew were going to need physicals including the new CMO, whoever  
that might be. She had the distinct feeling that she was going to be busier 
than  she had planned. Looking at the list it appeared that there were going to 
be  quiet a few new crew members. 
 
The first thing she noticed right away was that Commander Skyler and  Captain 
Ketchum were going to need physical's. It had been awhile since either  of 
them had had one. She knew they would both pitch a fit but they needed to set  
an example.
 
"Computer send the following messages, Attention Captain Ketchum and  
Commander Skyler, this is Dr. Cazook. You are both due for your annual  
physical's. 
Please report to sickbay as soon as possible. The sooner you do this  the 
sooner it will be over."
 
Hesitating just briefly she pushed the send button and waited. Waited to  
hear their excuses why they couldn't come for a physical. It was the same on  
every ship. Everyone hated their physical's.
