"Help if Needed"

She was pacing back and forth in front of her chair when her Romulan officer 
once again spoke up. 

"There's phaser fire onboard the Avalon, Captain. I do believe they've been 
boarded." 

Swearing loudly she reached up and slapped her comm. badge rather harshly. 
"Maluhia to the bridge."

"On my way."  Analu "Andy" Maluhia was Marine CO of the Banshee and looked 
every inch of it, from the broad chest and shoulders to the tattoos that 
covered his arms and legs.  Most people had the sense to get out of his way 
when he was running and, as usual, they did as he made his way up the bridge.  
He skidded to a sharp halt in front of the captain and tossed a quick salute.  
"Was that fast enough?"

"If you don't stop finding ways to remind me that your kicked my ass in the 100 
meter back in school, I'm going to bust you down to KP duty, Andy." It was the 
first time she relaxed even for a moment since this all started. "I want your 
option and I need it fast. Are the risks worth it if I sent you over to the 
Avalon as reinforcements." She knew he's know the name. How could anyone not 
being on this ship. It was like a bloody reunion ship. 

"Avalon?  Kanapapiki!"  He barely refrained from spitting on the deck.  "What 
are we--flying under a cloud?  Do we have any idea what time frame we're have?  
I can dig up records real quick.  If we know what their strength is..."

Looking over at the officer at Ops the Captain asked, "Find a relay and get me 
a date." 

A few mintues later the young man replied, "230508.7"

Looking back at Andy the Captain, replied. "That answer your time frame 
question? As for Avalon this one's been out of service for awhile but I bet 
James has all you need on it. We think she's been boarded by the wankers that's 
been stealing out tech."

"Hûpô o nâ hûpô is what they are then," Andy grumbled.  He ran a hand through 
his closely cropped black hair.  "What exactly would our objective be?  What 
are acceptable parameters after all?"

"Reinforce the Avalon Security. Apprehend the intruders." The Captain paused, 
she was fighting the urge to tell him to protect certain officers. She knew it 
wouldn't be fair, but who the hell cared about being far. "Protect the crew." 
She glared at Andy, hoping he knew who she meant. 

"You got it, Captain." Andy was no fool.  They all knew that ship in one way or 
another.  "Except now I gotta wear long sleeves all the time.  Who's going 
with?"

"Whom ever you like." She replied. "Um, except James, Victoria,  JD, and Li." 

Andy shook his head.  "This temporal stuff gives me a headache.  With my luck, 
it'll be...oh, 'Ai Kae, of course.  Why would it be anything else?"  He waved 
the PADD he had been scanning.  "Go wish that nutcase in  Science a happy 
birthday, Captain, because it's today.  I mean literally."

The Captain laughed. "Leave it to him to be born doing an invasion." Shaking 
her head she sighed and added, "Get your people together I'll call Ketchum and 
let him know what's going on."
