<USS Avalon> Heading for Trouble

Heading for Trouble
After the meeting with the captain, Karg decided and Nerys agreed that she
would report to Beta Shift when Commander Skyler had the Con. Kira had already
met her and is seemed that they should get along.

"I've got to get back to the Bridge. Alpha shift is there when the captain is
there. I've got to take a look at Shimbrodusâ?? scans of the Allegiance and all
that stuff. You gonna be OK, Nerys?"
"Yes, dear. I'm a big girl now."
"Oh, I'm sorry, that was paternalistic, wasn't it?"
Nerys comes close and kisses him while her hand squeezes his bottom. "Oooo,
that's OK, but you'd better go before I get ideas about you mister." He reached
behind her and does the same. "I see what you mean. See ya."

On the bridge, Karg relieved Shimbrodus at tactical to review the newly
acquired data. "Captain, the Allegiance is beginning to drift, radiation levels
continue to increase in the area. There are no apparent life signs that do not
conform to the crew manifest. I'm increasing scans to include other wavelengths
and spectrums. One thing seems peculiar sir."
"What's that?"
"The Sutherland is closer but she is standing off. Begging your pardon sir
but that's not exactly helping."
"Continue your scans lieutenant."
"Aye sir."

Karg tied one of his screens to the Science Station to begin a search on
weapons. The captain doesn't want to use anything that might ignite the
metaphasic
radiation but both of the ship's primary weapons generate heat. So now what?

After more than an hour's research, Karg asked the XO and CO if they could
meet to discuss weapons and they adjourned to the conference room. Keith asked,
"What have you got?"
"well sir, the problem is that both our ship's phaserâ??s and our torpedoes
produce heat when fired. I have found only one alternative. On the Enterprise
D,
Dr. Temicen, in 2367, created a modification for torpedoes fired at warp to
remain at warp. I could further modify his design to emit an EM field instead
of
a warp field. The drawback is that we would not be able to guide the weapons
in any way. We'd have top be at point bland range to guarantee a hit.

Iâ??ll need to get started right away if you sirs approve.

Chief Tactical & Chief Covert OPS Officer
