<USS Avalon> Georgia's Shoreleave-----------Ensign Georgia Lewis

"Georgia's Shoreleave"

Ensign Georgia Lewis
Georgia had never been on shore leave especially by herself. She
wasn't really sure what to do. Every time she had gone on shore leave she had
been
with Skyler, but since Skyler was having difficulties with Lt Sierra she
decided it would be best if she went out on her own.

She packed a little bag to take in case she found anything of interest
to purchase, then she could put it in the bag. She left the ship through the
air lock and entered the station. She looked around in awe. The station was so
big and looked like something from a science fiction movie. There were so
many shops to shop at, Georgia knew that she had better hurry if she was going
to
see everything and still have time to eat at a fine restaurant.

She started walking along the promenade and the first shop she entered
was a dress shop. Georgia thought she had died and gone to heaven. There were
so many different kinds of dresses and other types of clothing that she could
wear a different outfit each day for a month before having to do laundry. She
checked her credit chips to make sure how many she had. She didn't want to
spend them all at once. She only picked out a few outfits and then made her way
down the promenade, window shopping and looking for a fine restaurant to sit
and eat. Her feet were starting to ache. She wasn't used to so much walking
around.

She found a reasonably priced dining area and was led to a table near
a window so she could watch the different races walk by. It amazed her how so
many different races could get along. She could remember a time in earth's
jaded history when whites and blacks could not get along. The white people
would treat the blacks as property and buy and sell them as needed. It was a
terrible time in Earth's history, which is why Georgia was so amazed at how
well
all the different races were getting along.

She ordered some lobster with butter and some pecan pie. She took her
time eating savoring the lobster. She then started in on the pecan pie. As
she was eating it, she realized that it was nothing like her homemade ones. She
was going to have to make some when she got back to the ship. She finished
eating and paid her bill. After she did this, she got up and left the diner and
returned to the promenade and some more window shopping. She was still amazed
at all there was to see. She bought a few more things and filled her bag.

She was just gazing out a port looking at the stars and at the Avalon
when her comm badge went off calling everyone back aboard the ship. Georgia
hurried and made sure she had everything and headed toward the air lock and
returned to the Avalon. She returned to her quarters to place her purchases and
changed into a duty uniform and then reported in to Dr. Moreya. She couldn't
wait until the next shore leave!!!

((Takes place before the Avalon has left for the Allegiance))
