Cmdr Skyler and Yeoman Amelia Renaldi
 
Sitting in her small office just down the hall from the commander's office,  
Amelia sat working on some report that the acting XO needed her to polish up.  
Her mind however was on her real assignment. Commander Skyler had been having 
 some really hard times, and Amelia felt for her. Standing, the young blonde  
nodded to herself. She wanted to check in with the commander and to do that 
she  needed to track her down. After asking the computer were the commander 
was,  Amelia headed for the other woman's quarters. 
 
"You just don't see it, do you?  You don't see the way men look at  you..."  
He just let it go, staring at her, falling for her more every  day.  "You 
know, I was sitting her just about feeling sorry for myself and  then you walk 
down here and make me realize just how damned lucky I really  am."  He longed 
to 
reach out and touch her, to run his hand down the side  of her face.  He 
wanted to feel her hair against his cheek and pull her  close. 
 
âI donât need to notice how other men look at me.â Melanie replied. She 
had  
to keep in mind that she couldnât touch him. Her hand was still a little odd  
feeling from her last attempt at reaching through the force field. âSo what 
else  were you thinking about before I showed up?â She asked, hoping to 
change 
the  mood between them to something more relaxed and easy.
 
Skyler was in her quarters after her visit with Georgia. She kept going  over 
the different things they had talked about and how bad Georgia felt.  
Hopefully their conversation had ended on a good note and in time she, Georgia  
and  
Melanie would become a family again. She was sitting in her favorite  chair 
drinking a Diet Cherry Pepsi and listening to some soothing music. She  needed 
the added time the Captain had ordered her to take, yet she was anxious  to get 
back to her duties.
 
Reaching out, Amelia rang the door chime to Skyler's cabin and then  
straightened her uniform. At the Commander's call to enter, she stepped inside  
and 
went it attention. "Forgive the intrusion, Commander, but I felt I needed to  
check in with you." 
 
Skyler looked up and wasn't sure who she was looking at. "At ease. You will  
have to remind me who exactly you are?"
 
"Yeoman Amelia Renaldi.. Your personal yeoman, Commander."
 
Skyler looked at Amelia and had to admit she was not bad to look at. "You  
will have to excuse my shocked expression but I didn't realize I had a personal 
 
yeoman. Just what is you are supposed to do for me? Have a seat by the  way."
 
Amelia took the chair across from Skyler. "I'm your personal assistant,  
Ma'am.  I do what you need done." Amelia replied as she looked the  commander 
over. She had really nice eyes and Amelia wasn't sure she'd ever seen  such 
bright 
irises cast against the dark Betazoid pupil that way before.
 
"Well I am sure you have been pretty bored with me being out of commission  
for so long. Can I get you something to drink?"
 
A frown tugged at Amelia's face but she wouldn't allow it to show through.  
"I've been working for your sub while you have been out. It's been bearable but 
 I perfect to work for only a single person. Which in this assignment is you, 
 Commander." 
 
Skyler looked at Amelia and was amazed at how blue her eyes were. They  
complimented her blonde hair nicely. Could be interesting.... "So, you never  
said 
if you would like a drink or not. I can replicate most anything but I keep  
the stash of Pepsi to myself. Unless you would like some?"
 
Amelia smiled. "No thank you Commander, I'm fine thank you, and I was kind  
of aware of your Pepsi stash. I found it while moving your things back to the  
bridge office." 
 
So this was who had arranged for her to get her office back. Interesting.  "I 
hope you didn't leave all of it there? Ketchum is known for using my office  
from time to time, God only knows why. So tell me about yourself and please 
call  me Skyler."
 
"Don't worry Com.. Skyler. The Captain won't be able to find it." Amelia  
looked pleased with herself as she thought about hiding the supply of soda.  
"Well, I come from Munich, I have three older brothers, I've worked for several 
 
people I'd rather forget about, and you may call me Mia." 
 
"Well Mia it is nice to meet you. I should warn you in advance that there  is 
one person you should beware of and that is one Jr Lt Georgia Lewis. She is  
very protective of me and has been since the death of my mother. She can come  
across as harsh and stubborn but once she gets to know you and vice versa you 
 will find her to be a good friend. You may as well know that I have recently 
 discovered that I have a sister serving aboard this vessel and her name is  
Melanie Redgrave and she works in Forensics. I have just recently come to find 
 this out which is part of why I was out of commission for so long. Both of 
them  have free access to me at any time is that understood?"
 
Amelia tried not to look surprised at the announcement that Skyler had a  
sister. She'd known about Miss Lewis, but the sister thing wasn't in her  
records. "Yes Ma'am, Miss Lewis and Miss Redgrave should be allowed access to  
you at 
all times." Amelia paused a moment and then added, "When will that leave  you 
any free time, Skyler, I've noted that you don't seem to take much personal  
time." 
 
Thinking for a moment Skyler replied, "Ya know I never really needed much  
personal time. I kept busy with work and that was enough. One other person  
should have access if they so desire it and that is Sr Lt Elissabeth Marksbury. 
 
Any suggestions for what I should do for free time?" 
 
Making mental notes of Skyler's instructions, Amelia thought about her  
question. "I could reserve the holodeck for you."
"That's all well and good  but what would I do on the holodeck? Tell you 
what, you reserve some time and  pick a program of your choosing and we will do 
it 
together. How's that?"
 
Amelia didn't show her surprise at the offer, but nodded her head in  
agreement. "That sounds fine, Ma'am." 
 
"Ok then, it's settled. You pick the time and place and let me know. For  now 
I think that about covers everything unless you have anything to add. I am a  
tad bit tired and think I should probably get some rest right now, I really  
don't want Georgia jumping down both of us just yet." Skyler smiled at  Mia.
 
Standing slowly, Amelia went into a semi formal attention stance. "I'll  have 
the time to you by morning.. Goodnight, Commander." 
 
"I thought we agreed it was Skyler, at least when we are alone and no need  
for attention. I look forward to the adventure. Have a good evening Mia." 
 
Amelia nodded with a smile. "Goodnight  Skyler."
