First Day As an Engineer
By: Michael Bailey
Michael Bailey exited the turbolift adjusting his uniform as he
walks toward engineering, feeling a bit anxious and a bit worried about
his first day, he didn't quite know what to expect. As he entered
engineering he was greeted by a few ensigns, and a few technicians. He
smiled and give a polite nod as he went to his station.
Michael sat down at the console and began making equations on the
current warp core situation, he hoped to at least get the core
stabalized before bringing it back into the Avalon. Within the first
three hours he was able to localize the position of the core, and he
immediatly began work on stabalizing the core, as at the moment it was
in critical condition, one little rock pebble could cause a breach.
Bailey sat there during his entire shift, just studying the scans,
the equations and variables, until his eyes widened in suprise. He
began tapping vigorously and when he stopped he tapped his combadge
"Computer, based on the current statistics of the warp core, align my
equations with the current equations and give me a percentage of
stability."
After a few moments, the computer responded "Approximate percentage of
stability....86.999% precisely three percentage points over the
required cooling ratio"
Bailey smiled widely and quickly stood up tapping his comm badge once
again.
"Bailey to Captain Ketchum..."
