<USS Avalon> "Day Gone Wrong" By Lt. Marksbury and Jr. Lt. Monroe

"Day Gone Wrong"
By: Lieutenant First Class Elissabeth Marksbury and Junior Lieutenant James
Monroe

She stepped inside the door and the sight awaiting her assailed her senses.
She was swaddled by the sunshine, caressed by the breeze, and teased by the
sound of waves lapping at the sand. Lissi couldn't help but close her eyes and
tilt her face to the sun as the doors to the holodeck wisped shut behind her.

Monroe watched her from off to the side. She had dressed just as he'd asked
her to - light. She was wearing a swim suit covered by a gauze-like skirt and
shirt. It was the most he'd physically seen of her and he couldn't take his
eyes away. Though she didn't sport very womanly curves, the cut of her body
was graceful and the fact that she moved with such self confidence just
entranced him.

Lissi opened her eyes after a moment and looked around for James. She wasn't
too surprised to have gotten an invitation for an afternoon together following
the evening they had the night before. They had really gotten comfortable with
each other, though their passion was still teetering on the edge of a precipice
into something new.

She never had these feelings stirring inside her before. The closest she ever
had been with anyone was Maturin and there was just no passion. With Monroe it
seemed nothing but, which made her a bit nervous. It wasn't that she was
against such things, really, she just never had occasion to indulge in this
sort of reckless behavior before. The fact that she felt so carefree troubled
her a bit, but once laying eyes on James, she threw all caution to the wind.

The fact he had set such beautiful things up for her was touching. He was
waiting next to a small table standing a bit higher than normal and draped with
a sheet. She had never seen him without his shirt on before and she felt her
tummy jump when she did. He looked at her and smiled what seemed a bit
nervously. It was adorable. Before he could properly greet her, she crossed
the patio that opened onto the beach and wrapped her arms around his neck,
pulling him close for a kiss.

James was surprised at her hello, but more than pleased. It was becoming
increasingly hard to control his desires around her, especially when her
fingers were in the back of his hair like that. He was glad to see her opening
up, to know that his feelings weren't one sided. He pulled her closer, his
hands instinctively running under the back of her cover-up. He felt her relax
into his arms.

When she pulled back, she was grinning, all former embarrassment of such
displays now gone. "What's this?"

"A massage table. I thought you could use a break. So," he grinned, "off with
your clothes!"

"James!" she laughed. "How about just the outer layer?"

"Okay, okay," he pretended to mope. James watched as she removed her cover-up.
He could see her delicate two-piece ensemble through it anyway, but just the
act of her undressing captivated and enthralled him. It took him a moment to
realize she was already situated on the table face down, so distracted had he
been.

He began by lightly running his fingers down the length of her spine, making
her shiver and giggle to loosen up. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss
between her shoulder blades and untied the strap to her top so that her entire
back would be exposed to him. Warming a bit of coconut oil in his hands, he
began at her neckline, gently testing the muscles, finding out how tight they
were.

"You're full of knots, Liss. This is way too tight," he told her, running his
adept fingers over her shoulders. He worked his way down to the small of her
back, finding even more tension. "I'll fix that soon enough," he whispered
into her ear, nipping playfully at the edge of it.

It was so relaxing that Lissi would've fallen asleep as he worked, if his touch
had not been so stimulating. Her desires rose to a level that she never before
believed possible. And when his fingers brushed the sides of her breasts, she
gasped in surprise at the tendrils of electricity sent racing through her body.

"Sorry," he whispered thickly.

"Don't apologize." Lissi turned onto her back and sitting half-way up, reached
for James. He took her into his arms, kissing her deeply, his pent-up desires
finally playing themselves out. When his bare chest came into contact with her
uncovered breasts, all his thoughts of self-control went completely out the
airlock.

He gently eased her the rest of the way down to the table, slowly aligning his
body with hers. And that's when it happened...

The legs on the lower end of the table gave way with the added weight. In
comical slow motion the two of them slid to the ground with a slight thump,
landing in a tangled heap, arms and legs entwined, clothing and hair askew.

After the initial shock, they both laughed uproariously working to separate
themselves. Lissi reached behind her back to re-tie her top.

"Please tell me that wasn't in the program," she giggled.

"Oh, believe me, that was not in the program." James stood and pulled Lissi to
her feet.
"I'm sorry if -"

"Would you stop apologizing?" she interrupted, showing off her sparkling eyes.
"If you cross a line, I"ll let you know." They linked hands and by silent
consent began walking along the beach, toward the water.

"Wanna swim?" he asked her as they danced away from the incoming waves on the
sand.

Looking more sheepish than she ever had, Lissi admitted, "I can't swim."

"You - what? I thought that growing up on Earth and in California that... Oh,
boy, did I mess this one up."

"No you didn't. I love the ocean - the sights, sounds, and smells. I just
can't stand the thought of actually being in the water. They had one heck of a
time getting me to take baths as a child. I will forever be a shower girl,"
she laughed slightly.

James leaned down and kissed her on the nose. "You are so cute. Come here,"
he said, pulling her over to dry sand. They sat side by side, facing each
other.

The pair spent the next hour talking of childhood memories and favorite things.
Lissi idly covered his hands with sand until he finally noticed and quickly
pulled her to her feet, dragging her to the ocean.

"James, don't!" she squeaked, twisting from his grasp.

"Liss!" He managed to say before falling into the water, her abrupt change of
direction having knocked him off balance.

Lissi wrapped her arms tightly around herself and watched James pick himself up
half covered in wet sand. "I told you I didn't like the water," she said in
the coldest voice he had ever heard her use. It was almost monotone and
emotionless. Her lower lip quivered.

"Liss, I didn't mean to upset you... I was just gonna keep you with me." He
smirked, "Admittedly, I was gonna dunk you in with me."

"I - I'll see you later, James. I have to go." With that she walked quickly
back to the patio and gathered her things.

"Lissi," he rushed up to the patio, grabbing a towel to dry himself. He got
closer and turned her gently, "Hey, I'm sorry if that really scared you. I
wasn't going to let anything happen. You do know that, right?"

Looking him in the eye, she said, "You crossed the line." Lissi left the
holodeck, moving as quickly as possible back to the safety of her quarters.
