         Skyler really needed to get away from the Captain's ready room so 
that she could contact Fleet Captain Ketchum. He wasn't going to be at all 
happy 
about what had happened to Flubb. Everyone was here but security so she was 
left with no choice but to call someone, anyone to stand guard and make sure 
that all the proper protocols were followed to the letter.

         With all that had just happened, her mind was reeling. First a 
murder, then to find out she had a sister. It was all to surreal. But she 
didn't 
have the luxury of finding out the facts of the latter until the first mystery 
was solved.
She decided to call on Lt. Alder Shimbrodus to stand watch until such time 
that security could arrive.

         She stood off to the side and tapped her comm badge. "Lt. Shimbrodus 
this is Cmdr Skyler. I know you are off duty, however I need you to report to 
the Captain's ready room ASAP"

         Alder was in his quarters when he heard the comm go off. "Cmdr 
Skyler this is Lt Shimbrodus. I will be there momentarily."

         Alder proceeded to get dressed, wondering why he was being asked to 
report to the Captain's ready room. He was merely an operations officer. What 
could Cmdr Skyler possibly want with him? He hurriedly dressed and left his 
quarters, finding the nearest lift that would take him to the bridge and to the 
Captain's ready room.

         He found Cmdr Skyler pacing back and forth in front of the office 
door. There seemed to be quiet a bit of activity going on behind her. He 
approached the Cmdr and reported in.

         "Lt. Shimbrodus reporting as ordered ma'am." 

        Finally someone came when called. "Lt Shimbrodus, I appreciate your 
quick arrival. I am going to ask a great deal of you, but I feel that I can 
trust you with this assignment. I need you to stand watch and allow no one 
entry 
into this room except for Ensign's Redgrave and Daros from Forensics, Dr. 
Idyrs and his medical team, and security once they arrive. Do I make myself 
clear 
Lt.?"

         "Yes Ma'am. Might I ask what is going on?"

         "I suppose you have a right to know since you will be standing guard 
over this room. Captain Flubb is dead. That is all that we know so far. I 
need to leave to contact Captain Ketchum, which is why I called for you. You 
are 
to say nothing to anyone and allow no one but those I told you, in. I shall 
return as soon as I can."

         Alder stood at attention and was determined not to let anyone in. 
Skyler felt a little more comfortable now that there was someone watching the 
room. She left and went to the bridge to make sure that they were still on 
course for Earth.

         Once she was sure that was taken care of she sat down in the 
Captain's chair and opened and subspace channel. She encrypted a message that 
stated 
the following. "To Fleet Captain Ketchum, from Cmdr Skyler, Acting CO USS 
Avalon. Sir, I regret to inform you that Captain Flubb has been killed under my
sterious circumstances. I have forensics and medical working to determine the 
cause of death as well as the time of death. Also, the Rydyn delegates have 
been 
secured in the quarters for the time being. As soon as I have more information 
I shall pass it on to you. I do have one question for you. Any words of 
advice in this situation?" She had the computer encrypt it for Ketchum's eyes 
only 
and sent it. She knew he was not going to be happy, not at all.

         She sat in the chair and rubbed her temples. The headache was 
getting worse but she didn't have time to worry about that. There were other 
pressing matters. Namely who killed Flubb and why?
