?Conspiracy Theory?
by Commander Javan
Sierra
& Commander Skyler
Sitting on the
bridge, Skyler had given Ensign Michaelson the coordinates and engine
speed needed to reach the destination. She had also given orders to
Ensign Henderson to scan for any unusual openings or sensor readings.
If any were to appear he was to notify her immediately. It had
already been a long day so she walked over to the replicator and
replicated a rather large Diet Cherry Pepsi and then returned to her
command chair and waited.
The doors to the turbolift doors
hissed open and Javan Sierra stormed onto the bridge. His gait was
rather harsh and his boots thudded heavily on the deck plating as he
traipsed across the room. Standing behind the banister his eyes
gauged Commander Skyler. His knuckles were white as ivory as they
clenched the duranium railing. "Commander, if I may inquire, where
are we headed and who gave us these orders?"
Skyler wasn't
surprised when she heard Commander Sierra's voice. She knew it
wouldn't be long before he would grab the first lift and make his
presence known. Skyler just patiently sat there looking straight
ahead at the viewscreen. "Is there a problem Commander? Something
that I might be able to help you with? If not I suggest you go back
down to the hole you came from."
"I asked you a question,
Commander."
"Frankly, I find it to be none of your damn
business Commander. If anyone had wanted you to know I am quite sure
that they would have informed you. Now unless you have other
business, which I am pretty sure you don't I suggest AGAIN that you
return to your hole." The more arrogant he got, the more passive she
was attempting to be. It was definitely getting harder and harder,
especially because of the tension between them. This was the first
time they had said more than two words between them in months. Now he
could stew for a while and see what it was like.
Taking a
step to the side Javan took a step down onto the landing where the
command chairs were. She sat there in all of her esteemed glory.
Javan narrowed his eyes and again gauged her up and down trying to
sense just what she was doing, what she was thinking, but he couldn't
quite get a fix. Clearing his throat, Javan iterated again,
"Commander, with all due respect, I'm a member of the senior staff,
the command staff, and I'm the Chief of Security. I request again to
be informed of our destination and under whose order we are
traveling."
"Now that is funny Commander. You see no one
felt the need to inform me at all about what was going on. Lieutenant
Thomas just took a shuttle and off he went, you just decided to
follow Karg over to the Allegiance and nearly got killed. You seem to
do what ever you want, when you want to. Well not this time. This
time, we follow my orders. You want to take a shuttle, you ask me.
You want to take an away team somewhere you get permission from me.
Understand?"
"Last time I checked, your worship, you aren't in
charge of this vessel." Javan said quite sarcastically and with a
smile that he'd longed to show her. "And if something is going to
happen then we go to Captain Ketchum and not you. You aren't the
supreme power of the land here, Commander, and everyone on board will
tell you that. Now, as for my journey to the Allegiance, that was
for the safety of the crew and I hope that you'd see that. I went
over because I knew Karg was there and I was there to make sure he
didn't do anything stupid. So, I'd suggest you go whine and complain
to him, and not to me."
"My, my aren't we defensive today?
Did someone get up on the wrong side of the rock this morning? First
of all I am not whining as you so eloquently put it. Secondly I know
who is in command of this vessel do you? And finally the Captain has
approved my orders if you must know. You see I don't go off and do
things half cocked like some people do, just because they think that
they are God's gift to the world. Oh and I would be careful about
what you say and who you say it to. I hear they are investigating
people. So I would be on my best behavior if I were you unless you
don't have anything to hide. You don't do you?"
Javan shook
his head again; "You didn't clearance from the Captain for this,
Commander. I checked the mission log and there is no official
approval of this mission. You're lying, Skyler, and I want to know
why the hell you're doing it. And you should be the one who watches
what they say. I've only retaliated to what you've said. You
started this argument, Commander, I simply wanted answers. If anyone
is to be investigated it's you." At this point Javan was about to
explode and his clenched fist was a sign of it.
"Believe
what you want, but the truth will come out in the end. It always
does."
"I am seriously questioning your intentions, Commander,
and whether or not they're in the best interest of the crew and
Starfleet interests."
"What exactly is your problem with the
mission to begin with? Plus I will have you know that you do not
scare me. I have gone against the best and come out ahead and with
decorations from the Romulan government for it. So I am not worried.
I have my orders whether you want to believe them or not."
"That's just it, you have NO orders. We didn't receive any
word from Starfleet Command and there isn't an entry about a mission
update from the Captain - you're just doing whatever the hell you
want." Javan stepped up and grabbed something from behind the
tactical console. He pointed the item at Commander Skyler, a phaser
wielded in his hands, "I'm relieving you of duty, Commander, I'm
taking command of the bridge."
?I am not scared of your
little phaser Javan. You may not have seen the orders and they may
not have been written down yet, but never the less they were given by
the Captain."
"No, you said it yourself that we're going
where you want. You're talking in circles, Commander, and now you're
not making sense." Javan shook his hands free from the approaching
security officers. "She's putting you all in harms way and you
follow her blindly. You all must be informed that the Captain hasn't
approved the Commander's orders, and Starfleet Command hasn't even
dispatched us to go anywhere. We're going wherever she wants and I
won't let it happen. I am inclined to take command until the Captain
decides what to do."
The security guards grabbed Skyler and
hoisted her out of her seat to a standing position.
"Who are
you going to believe? Someone with enough misconduct reports to
wallpaper his office or some one you know, who follows the orders.
Who does what the Captain asks of her and doesn't go and do reckless
things?"
"Who holds petty grudges, one specifically against me
because I dropped her ass because I felt her sucking the life from
me? She can't let go that I dumped her and that I moved on." Javan
pointed her phaser at her again and nodded to the security team,
"She's the mentally unstable one. Get her off the bridge."
"I'll go, only so that no one gets hurt but just so you know
I have moved on to bigger and Better things. Why I wasted time on You
I will never know. At least that part of my live is over. Thank God!
Shall we go Gentlemen?"
"Fellas, get some popcorn so you can
watch her show. Put up the wall because she's never hurt and she's
the strong one." He motioned again as he put the phaser back where
it was supposed to be.
The two security officers escorted
her to the turbolift where someone shouted out that their destination
would be the brig. The doors sealed and Javan stepped over and
assumed the center chair. He took a deep breath. "Ensign, full
stop." He tapped his communication badge, "Captain to the bridge."
