<USS Avalon> "Coming Home"

"Coming Home"

Admiral Ketchum   
 

Once the shuttle she was riding on reached  it's destination, Georgia 
departed and head to her quarters. She would take a  few minutes to clean them 
and 
gather her gear together. While she was there she  realized she needed to send 
a 
message to Admiral Ketchum and Skyler telling them  of her new assignment.
 
Sitting down at her desk she turned on the  computer. While waiting for the 
machine to boot up she thought about what she  would say. Finally she was able 
to access the computer and prepared her  statement. "Computer send message to 
Admiral Ketchum and Captain Skyler.  Attention Admiral Ketchum and Captain 
Skyler. This is Dr. Georgia Lewis and I  have again been reassigned to the 
Avalon.  I am currently at Starfleet HQ  and will take the next available 
shuttle to 
meet up with the Avalon. Is there  anything I need to bring with me? Please 
let me know. Thank you. Dr. Lewis  out."
 
She hit the send button and now all she could  do was wait for a response 
from someone.  While waiting she walked through  her small quarters and made 
sure 
she had everything she needed gathered  up.
 


Keith received the message shortly after the  urgent call, he responded as 
quickly as he could, "Doctor Lewis, it will be good  to have you back at your 
home.  We will be picking you up at Earth in a day  or so, as all shuttles are 
currently grounded from leaving their respective  systems.  We will see you 
soon.  Ketchum out."
 
Georgia didn't even get a chance to reply  before the Admiral signed off. At 
least he said it would be good to have her  home. What she didn't understand 
was why all the shuttles were grounded. Since  it appeared she would be 
remaining another day or two perhaps, she thought, she  would look around and 
see 
what she could find out on her own. Who knows maybe  she could be of some help 
somewhere.
