"Calm Before the Storm"

The wedding was over and the reception was beginning and as Skyler and
Mehdi entered  everyone in attendance applauded. Both were smiling from ear
to ear. It was if they couldn't get enough of each other.

A new life had begun for them. In front of them lay so many hopes and
dreams. Nothing else mattered at this point ... time could have stood still
for them. It was their very special day. Nothing was going to change that. It
was a day they would remember for the rest of their lives together.

The music was playing and people were dancing. Mehdi and Skyler danced
the first dance alone. They held each other close. Close enough to hear each
others hear beat. So close that nothing could come between them.

They only thing that they were aware of was each other and their
feelings. This
was a whole new life. Skyler looked into Mehdi's eyes and could see her
dreams coming true as they danced. She saw her  reflection in them and hoped he
saw
what she saw. A life of hope and fulfillment. Of desire and comfort. Of
happiness and most importantly of LOVE!!

They floated and flowed through the room and time ceased to have
meaning to either of them. All they had hoped for was coming true. All their
fears
were banished. They cherished one another and that was what counted. They
could die in an instant yet still be content.

Soon the music stopped and the best man raised his glass in a toast
for the happy couple. Skyler just looked at Mehdi as his best man gave the
toast. She couldn't belive she was standing here, married no less.

"Skyler ... Mehdi ... May the road rise up to meet ye, may the wind
ever be at yer back, an' may the Good Lord hold ye in the hollow o' His Hand.
Best wishes to ye now an' always," said Sean O'Reilly. "To the happy couple!"

Everyone raised their glasses as Sean gave the happy couple
their toast. Meanwhile Skyler and Mehdi were passionately kissing as if they
couldn't get enough of each other. Which if you thought about it was true,
since they only had a few hours before they had to report back to duty. They
would
have to wait for their real honeymoon.

They raised their glasses and drank. The wine was sweet, like
ambrosial nectar. Its flavor was warm, full, robust ... but all of that
couldn't hold
a candle to their burning passion for one another.
Yes, sadly, duty called. But they knew they would have other, more joyous,
moments together, both alone and with others. For now, they were content to
know
they were united in front of all they knew ... as husband and wife.
