"Between Sisters"
Colonel Soliel & Lt. Skyler 
 
Skyler had finally finished up in Sickbay after dealing  with Captain Lewis 
and having Ensign K'etrall standing around all day making  sure they were 
armed. She had never been so pissed off before in her life. All  she wanted to 
do 
was bitch slap someone but that wouldn't have been proper in  front of her 
staff and she was going to at least run a proper Sickbay if nothing  else. Now 
that she was in her quarters she could finally relax with a hot bath  and a 
glass 
of rum and coke. She let the hot water just surround her body as she  leaned 
her head against the back of the tub and closed her eyes and tried not to  
think of the terrible day.
 
After spending a few hours with Thomas, Soliel found  that she had the rest 
of the evening open so she decided to see what her sister  was up to. After the 
run in Skyler had had with Lewis, she wanted to make sure  that she was all 
right. Even when she was little Soliel never knocked on  Skyler's door. She 
simply walked in, just like she'd just walked into her  sister's quarters. 
~Skyler.~
 
~I'm in the tub, what do you need?  ~
 
Soliel helped herself to Skyler's bottle of rum after  replicating herself a 
cup of tea. ~Came to see you. I'll wait out here until  your finished. ~ 
 
Skyler was used to her sister just coming in whenever  she wanted so this was 
nothing new. ~~I may be awhile so if you want to talk  you may as well come 
in here and bring that bottle with you. You never had a  problem taking a bath 
with me when you were little or has rank changed you?  ~~
 
Soliel rolled her eyes as she picked up the bottle of  rum and headed for her 
sister's bathroom. ~I was three that hardly counts  for anything. ~ She 
commented as she entered the room and made herself  comfortable on sink 
counter. 
 
~~Three, Thirty-three what's the difference?  Besides you always did give 
good backrubs and I could use one about now~~  Skyler never opened her eyes 
just 
took another drink and held out her glass for  a refill.
 
~Thirty-two thankyouverymuch.~ Soliel replied  as she leaned forward and 
refilled her sister's glass. "And if you wanna  back rub there's a great 
program 
on the holodeck for that. Though I can see why  you'd be stressed. ~
 
~~Well since you aren't going to give me a backrub  I suppose I might as well 
get out of this tub so you won't be so uncomfortable,  even though you do 
give the best backrubs around.~~ Skyler stood and  stepped out of the tub and 
found a towel and wrapped it around her and proceeded  to the bedroom and sat 
on 
the bed taking a long sip of her drink. ~~Now what  makes you think that I am 
stressed? ~~
 
Soliel rolled her eyes as she walked past Skyler,  flopping down onto her bed 
with a thud. ~Gee I don't know, Sky, maybe it has  something to do with the 
fact we telepaths? Or maybe it's because your my sister  and I know you? ~ 
Soliel pulled Skyler's pillow away from the head of the  bed and tucked it 
under 
self as she flipped onto her stomach. 
 
Getting up Skyler went to her closet and pulled out a  ratty pair of academy 
sweats, put them on and returned to the bed. She took the  remaining pillow 
and flopped down on it next to her sister turning to look at  her. ~~Sometimes 
I 
just don't know what I would do without you around you  know it brat, then 
again sometimes you are too smart for your own good~~  She leaned over giving 
her sister a quick kiss on the head and turned onto her  back staring at the 
ceiling.
 
Soliel scrunched her nose at the sight of the ratty old  sweats. ~By the 
Gods, Sky, it's not like we don't have funds that have  nothing to do with Star 
Fleet.. Why do you still have those? ~ Soliel liked  teasing her sister. She 
also liked being able to simply relax. 
 
Looking down at her sweats she then looked at Soliel.  ~~There is absolutely 
nothing wrong with these sweats, its not as if I am  out to impress anyone, 
unlike you. Speaking of which how is Ronni? She wouldn't  happen to have a 
friend would she? ~~
 
~Ronni has lots of friends. ~ A small smile  appeared on her face as she 
thought about her Ronni, but it was her eyes that  showed her sadness. She 
missed 
her beloved a great deal. ~She sent me a  letter. They take forever to get 
because she insists on hand writing them. She  asked when we were coming back 
to 
Earth and I can't seem to bring myself to  write her back to tell her not for 
a while. ~
 
~~You really do love her don't you? I envy you that  little sister. At least 
you have someone to love and who loves you and is  waiting for you. All I have 
is this damn bottle. ~~ Skyler held out her  arms ~~Come here and let me hold 
you for awhile and you can tell me why I am  all stressed out~~
 
Skyler hated when Soliel interfered in her messes, but  lying wouldn't do any 
good since Skyler would know. ~Captain Lewis paid you  a visit. ~
 
Putting her arms downs Skyler looked at her sister for  a moment. ~~True, the 
bitch did come to sickbay during the red alert and  insisted that everyone 
should arm themselves and when I  refused she left  one of her goons to make 
sure, but you know all this don't you? ~~ She  looked at her sister again but 
this time with a little bit of disappointment.  ~~You disciplined her and told 
her to stay away from me didn't you?  ~~
 
Soliel turned her head to look her sister in the eyes.  ~What good is having 
power and position if I don't use it to make your life  easier. ~ 
 
~~I know you mean well and I appreciate it I really  do, but how is it going 
to look to everyone else if every time something happens  my little sister 
buts in and handles things for me? If you really want  to make my life easier 
find me someone special that I can love and wake up with  and fall asleep with. 
Someone I can share my hopes and dreams with. I love you  to death brat, but 
you just aren't cut out for me in bed. ~~ She looked  serious for a moment and 
then pounced on her sister and started to tickle her  just like she did when 
they were kids.
 
Soliel laughed and squealed as she tried to get Skyler  off her. She wouldn't 
stop looking out for her sister because that's what they'd  always done. They 
looked out for each other. ~Get off me you great heifer or  I'll call Mother. 
~ It was a good thing they liked speaking telepathically  because Soliel 
wasn't sure she could have gotten a verbal word out as she  squeaked and 
laughed. 
 
~~And just who are you calling a heifer brat. I  meant what I said find me 
someone special, someone like Ronni. ~~ She  tickled her sister some more and 
then let her up and took the time to catch her  breath. ~~God I love you kid 
and 
don't you forget it, even with all your  rank and power~~
 
~I love you too. ~ Soliel replied before  picking up the pillow she'd been 
laying on and whopping her sister upside the  head with it. She then sprung to 
her feet and waved as she made her way out of  the room. ~Night Sky. ~
 
~~Night Brat~~ Skyler laid back on the bed,  closed her eyes and tried to 
imagine what it felt like to have someone love you  as much as Ronni love 
Soliel, 
or to have that much power at the tips of her  fingers. Oh well she thought, 
its just a  dream.
